  1. Malloy's 19 walks don't lead the league. He's second, the leader has 20. Give up? Niko Goodrum! He has 20 in 14 games, and his position is described as 1B.
  2. Why not just order some Trump Steaks?
  3. Not to get too nitpicky but Juan Encarnacion, Gabe Kapler and Mike Drumright were all here before Randy Smith was. The list of "exciting" prospects that Randy Smith acquired begins and ends with Eric Munson.
  4. I agree that Schoop's AB's are wasted, but I'm not ready to kick Nevin to the curb yet. And yes, service time is always a poor reason when deciding whom to put on the 26.
  5. I agree, I am not in any hurry to see him in Detroit. Let him play third base every day in Toledo, and I don't care if it is for the whole year.
  6. And they even screwed that up, Trammell as manager and Gibson as bench coach was backwards,
  7. I believe that no Tigers team in my lifetime has ever deliberately put a bad team on the field in order to improve its draft position.
  8. Also, Hittin' Harold's versatility was of the Shane Halter genre, to suck at 7 positions.
  9. Guys like Parker and Winfield, and Ellis Valentine, got lots of love as defensive right fielders but for me Evans was the best of all of them. That, and a serious power bat, and a long career, should have gotten more Hall consideration than it did.
  10. He absolutely hated that ridiculous McHale/Smith "National League" park design.
  11. Tigers out on 7 pitches in the first.
  12. Yeah, what happened to that guy who would lecture us about the correct names of gun parts
  13. OMG, do you really have an elected representative named "Buddy"? That's hilarious.
  14. I don't know this for a fact but I suspect that the author of Mein Kampf usually paid his bills on time and did not cause heartache and suffering for literally thousands of people whom he stiffed, in everyday occupations like self-employed caterers, maintenance contractors, and florists.
  15. Foley is a good choice and Maton might be a poor man's Tony Phillips. But the travel teams analogy is spot on for most of them.
  16. Oh also Tony Phillips, I think "volatile" would be a fair description.
  17. Intriguing thought. Whom do we have that we could feature in a brawl, remembering that we once had Willie Horton who was very frightening when he lost his temper. Even better, for a year we also had Alex Johnson. According to Horton, when they were both in high school, everybody was afraid of Johnson. So...those are big shoes to fill. Any suggestions?
  18. There's only one Manchurian Candidate, and that's Laurence Harvey. Don't buy into that Liv Schreiber attempt, that's weak sauce.
  19. Dominion had no choice, otherwise they could end up with nothing.
  20. That's twice in the past few days that we have seen a 3 inning reliever. Someone has been reading this forum.
  21. Yes he is out of the doghouse for now. I still want to see more of Jake Rogers though.
  22. Wow, I saw those guys play a few times in Toronto at CNE Stadium. Jim Rice was charismatic, you couldn't take your eyes off of him. And Dewey Evans, if you look up "right fielder" in the dictionary you would see his picture. And Fred Lynn glided around out there, I never saw DiMaggio of course but that is how he was described. They were just freaking awesome.
