    It's not exactly rural Saskatchewan, it's a first nations reservation in a remote area. They have 10 times the drug problems there that non-Indigenous people would have. Thank goodness they did not have semiautomatic weapons.

    Having the field coaches involved in front office personnel decisions is what really stupid NFL teams do. Chris Ilitch needs help obviously but it has to be from outside the organization.

    That is not something that I am worried about yet. It gets stated as fact here on MTS but I don't recall Ilitch saying it. What he said was that AJ Hinch would assist with transactions in the absence of a GM. That's a long long way from being involved in the search process. So at the moment there is no cause for alarm unless I missed something.

    It's all about the money, always has been. If the Tigers offer the most money, they get the player. When a guy says "I want to play for a winner" he is in his early 30's, the Tigers shouldn't be signing people that old anyway.

    I heard Sean Casey tell this story once, he was playing for the Red Sox and twice within a week he was thrown out at second trying to stretch a single into a double. After the second time he was extremely angry, and Terry Francona put his arm around his shoulder and they went for a short walk up the runway. When they got a safe distance away from the dugout Francona turned to him and said "are you sure you don't have polio?"
