  1. Brian Snicker stepping down in Atlanta. Lot of teams with new managers next season
  2. Wasn't that the statue that had a big fire a few years ago?
  3. October 1 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/october-1
  4. Pretty much. admiringly it was a side remark possibly a slip. But one does not mix up rivals like that. Besides Tech played Saturday, UVa had the Friday night stampede
  5. It’s a small thing in the general scheme but a gubernatorial candidate cannot do this and expect to get elected
  6. Burns has said that this was the hardest of his films to make. There are no photographs, no living witnesses to put on screen, and a lot of what would be interesting letters and correspondence had been destroyed. Martha Washington burned all of her letters to and from George, for example. That said, we had a chance to see a preview a couple of weeks ago. What we saw was great. The National Park Service, Virginia 250 Committee, and the PBS station in Norfolk had the showing on the battlefield in Yorktown. They showed about an hours worth of footage, a lot of what we saw was tailored for the event so there was a lot of Yorktown footage. You can see Burns and company's fingerprints on this, it didn't seem to show any political leaning imo. But there are folks who tend to find Colonial Williamsburg a bit too woke for their tastes
  7. This sums it up... Unless it won't.
  8. BTW if strong restrictions on weapons don't work. Can you explain why the US has with the largest firearm ownership in the world also has the highest gun death rate in the world? Also if countries like Japan, the UK and Australia all have stricter gun control laws AND much lower firearm death rates. How do you explain that?
  9. And I thought you guys were in favor of Law and Order. It still may be so unless it applies to you
  10. This team is cursed. All the Good Karma from the second half of last season to July has worn out. Need a new Karma supplier
  11. By that logic let's just go Wild West. Do away with all laws because criminals don't follow them anyway. Got it.
  12. So you're saying that restrictions on "automatic weapons" worked. And only rich people can afford them. Great let's put similar restricts on semi automatic weapons or magazine size. That should reduce crime even more
  13. Possibly filed under "the more things change....
  14. If Joe Biden were giving this rambling speech, itd be treated as a four alarm fire in every newsroom in the country about his very obvious physical and mental decline. But because its Trump, they'll all mostly just shrug and move past it.
  15. I like 2, anything to avoid the turnpike. We also try to avoid Columbus on our way south, depending on the destination. As I've said for 20 plus years now, the Michigan to SW or even our current location in Virginia wouldn't be so bad if Ohio wasn't in the way.
  16. September 30 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/september-30
  17. I don't know Wallace would have probably been smarter. Now Lester Maddox is another story.
  18. Pre-pandemic and when I lived in Michigan I would take my then pup to Lyon Oaks for the dog park several mornings during the week. There would be about a half dozen or so of us. Retired, or near retirement age. We'd about an hour or so just walking the perimeter of the park discussing the days events or whatever. It was cool, a chance to socialize, get a bit of exercise, the dogs got some extra socialization out of it. I used to describe it as like the old guys at McDonalds
  19. Happy for you. No wonder by oysters taste funny
  20. Guess who's paying for the increased cost
