GFY Putin: https://www.yahoo.com/news/putin-approves-foreign-policy-doctrine-185136774.html Are you now going to invade Brooklyn/ Brighton Beach because, you know, we have at least a couple of Russian speakers in that area too? GFY Putin.

If market sentiment is that oil purchasing will become tighter based on supply/ demand (free market capitalism) then the price goes up. If more oil production comes on line than demand or there is demand destruction, the price comes down. This should be true both for spot and futures. If you are arguing that the "political outcome" itself is enough to move the markets adverse to that outcome, based on the removal of a "gray area" so to speak on that outcome...? I don't see it that way. If the market sentiment is that OPEC+ will cut production 500,000 barrels per day, prices will go up accordingly. If they actually only cut (surprise!) or agree to cut 100,000 bpd instead of the expected 500,000 then prices will come down. If Russian oil is excluded from Europe but makes the rest of the oil market tighter (by the exclusion of Urals, etc.), prices go up. If we get back on board in the Iranian agreement and drop the sanctions, they have 95 mill barrels sitting in storage right now that will hit the market almost immediately, but their full ramp-up to daily 4 mill bpd will take into mid-2023 (rough guess) again, prices will come down. It's pure supply and demand and the market reaction to those factors, even if they are future actions. So I went in and took an actual look at the article. They were not expecting a 500K production reduction and got only 100K. I haven't been paying attention to oil as much as I usually do recently so still had my mind wrapped around OPEC+ wanting to make a larger production cut. But that was at least a month or two ago. Recently that sentiment had changed to: they were actually not going to do ANY production cut.. that was the expectation. But they instead did a 100K bpd cut. So there IS a rise in price based exactly on what I outlined... The only problem, personally, me... was my lack of attentiveness. HAH!

Which makes her much much worse than a putz. Did Trump pay her off somehow, or threaten her life? That's the first question I ask.

Outside help is worthless if all they give is crappy advise. And there's no guarantee that you get the "right" advise versus "crappy". Didn't the Lions use an "outside voice" to determine that Bob Quinn would be the best hire to make as their new GM? And how did that work out...? It doesn't matter where the "right" answer comes from, whether that's from Hinch, Ilitch, organizational consensus, the new analytics guys getting to make the call, or an "outside voice", it only matters getting to the correct answer.

Week One: Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) @ Detroit Lions (0-0)
1984Echoes replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
A lot of sports pubs have NFL Ticket... but usually not Detroit volume. You can always ask for Closed Captioned so you can at least read along with what they are saying. Not too many Lions games here in Jersey. But both national (Buffalo Wild Wings/ Brickhouse Bar & Grille/ etc.) and local pubs (just call or check) have the Sunday Ticket. Good excuse for me to run out of the house and grab a burger or something different to eat... I have a list of 69 (not joking) local and national pubs from south Jersey to north Jersey to choose to go see a game. More often than not, since they've been losers, I leave at halftime or shortly thereafter. But it's not hard to stay the full game either by ordering an extra appy or beer or dessert... -

The trick with Buchelnikov is, how do we get him out of Russia? Without endangering his family from Putin's thugs? Going to be very, very tricky.

Why would Brent Crude be up on a smaller than expected cut in crude output by OPEC+ ? They've either got that backwards or they are pointing to the wrong evidence.

So what does the Special Master do about empty folders? Press charges?

Don't want to declare yet... But definitely Milly is doing good... I was starting to lose faith with all the petulance but stabbing the boar to death has renewed my faith in her... which says nothing about her acting ability but the plot/ character arc was starting to drag me down/ the boar fight (and her acting) and a glimpse of the white hart brought me back up.

Thanks. Will do.

And there are many, many, many players who won't even CONSIDER Detroit for one reason or another. I'm sorry... but you have to start there... The player first has to be willing to consider the Tigers and that is NOT every player. Don't fool yourself into thinking that we can just "buy" any player we want by offering the most money. It's not going to work like that. So I'm going to fall back on what I said previously, and we won't find out the answer until Free Agency, but: find me the guy that signs with the Tigers to play 3B in 2023, and I'll show Candy the door. Until then... he's the stopgap option, and I tender him for next year until and unless a different option commits. -

There are lots of reasons someone might not sign here. -
Does Amazon Prime put any of their stuff out on Blu Rays...? I don't have it and am wondering whether I should incur the cost or instead purchase The Rings of Power by season on Blu Ray, if that were an option. Actually, that would be my preferred option. I don't shop much on Amazon, it's not zero but it's pretty damn close to zero. I don't see Prime as an attractive option unless there were some compelling reason... I don't even know how much it costs...

I'll believe it when I see it. I think this answers G2 as well... Show me the FA we sign to play 3B and I will personally go show Jeimer Candelario where the exit door is... -

Again... Who is going to be willing to take Detroit's money this offseason? That's the very first question that needs to be answered. Sign an All-Star FA 3B'man and of course Candy is non-tendered. But what is the answer to the first key question: who is going to take our money this offseason to come play for the 2023 Tigers? -

I would agree with this... But how do you get him away from the Giants? Even if he's a FA (I didn't check contract status)... the same question applies: how do you get him away from the Giants/ California... to come to Michigan? -

The money doesn't mean a thing to me. And besides, I think it's going to be very difficult to spend our money this offseason... We don't exactly resemble a "Go-To" location this winter. At least not until this team/ new GM fixes a few things and we start back up to looking better on the field. I think it takes next year to recover Org value/ destination value... Just my 2 cents. -

That may also be the option. I don't know if the Org is there yet... I'm not, just yet... But we'll see soon enough this offseason what their thinking is... -

Then again... Maybe he's looking for an early pathway out of Detroit...? And a non-tender...? Doesn't seem logical, but... -
Backup. Catcher. Defense first.
-
You know I've already "retired" Cabrera right? Mentally and emotionally (if only I had the power to do that managerially...). And I believe the assessment is that Haase isn't the greatest defensive catcher...? Last point: Sanchez could very well possibly still be the 3rd catcher... but still at Toledo in 2023?

I'd rather the $7 mill for 1 year than anything on a multi-year. Personal preference. -
Aah, yeah, right. But it still might be minorly valuable to add that glove to his resume. Aside from they sort of got to...

I bring him back just to be able to cover 3B for 1 year. That's it. The same thing we did in trading for Barnhart. Just as a stopgap to cover a spot for a year. If he does well, trade him at the deadline. That's it. There's no signing him to another contract... as we've seen, not enough consistency and there's been a definite drop this year, on both sides of the ball. That's it. For Jeimer.
