  1. If he signs the QO. Too late. If he doesn't, I would only be willing to do the 1-year in order to see how he comes back from TJ. Not interested in making a LT commitment when we have no idea on that. Sign him as a guess? As a... we "truly believe" in Verlander? I'm sorry, but no thanks. The only thing that makes sense to me is a 1-year recovery deal, for $20 Mill or less. At the end of 2022, after he's shown whether he's the Verlander of old (or at least the past 3 years, not including the TJ), or not, then I would reconsider making an investment in a LT contract with him. But not before then. But that's just me.
  2. And then come back at the end of 2022, after he's proven he's 100% back from TJ, that he's worth that 3 year/ $90-100M contract.
  3. Can't that be taught though? Or, alternatively, what can he be taught that would change that dynamic from reliever to starter?
  4. 'Tuzz looks rusty as heck out there... But the kids look great! Fast, all over the ice, controlling the puck, stealing the puck... they spent about 75% of the time in the 1st in the O-zone... very little time in Detroit's zone. Love that especially... Veleno and Raymond look like they need to stay in Detroit this year...
  5. Lamar isn't bad. Not a bad QB to build around but I'm with those that think running QB's are going to get beat up faster and lose effectiveness faster. Not what I really want to build around... Comparisons to Deshaun Watson I like a whole lot more, if that's who Malik can compare to. Much bigger arm, much less running. Watson/ Rodgers/ Steve Walsh... prefer those types of running QB's as a personal preference...
  6. I don't think Correa is interested in 5/125. He wants that 10/300 commitment.
  7. I'd like to see Hess pitch better. Not certain what his upside is but... he was only ok this year. Big guy at 6' 6" but he walks too many. Wilmer looks like he could turn into something...
  8. Coming back from TJ. QO. 39 years old next year. Wants a contract of some length. Avila/ Ilitch can beg to differ... but IMO out of our range. I'm not interested. Anyone else in here interested in JV based on the above components? We haven't even gotten to dollars yet.
  9. Lebron and AD don't bother me at all. But the rest of the team is getting gross. And reminds me of the 2004 Lakers...
  10. Why not? The military mandates a plethora of vaccines. Multiple children's vaccines are mandated (measles, smallpox, polio, etc). At least when I grew up. I don't really know if I am absolutely for or against a vaccine mandate... I agree on your second point... I'm just playing devil's advocate here...
  11. Gross. Just gross. Can we get a 76'ers-Suns final in 2022 please?
  12. Gross. Just gross. Can we get a Bucks-Jazz final in 2022 please?
  13. Facts: Who pays for Tommy John surgery in MLB?: Bridget Winters, Bachelor’s Degree Operations and Supply Chain Management, Cleveland State University (2018) Answered June 4, 2018 I used to work for the Cleveland Indians and usually the insurance they have for the players covers most of it and whatever that doesn’t cover, the team does. What type of medical coverage do MLB teams carry? John Finn, Research Expert and Statistician at Self-Employment (1990-present) Answered February 7, 2019 Full coverage by their teams. This goes for injuries/ailments that are not sports related too... because in reality, all injuries/ailments effect how they play sports. Jon Lester had to deal with Cancer and Ryan Westmoreland had to deal with a malformation in his brain. They were covered by the Red Sox. Sadly, Westmoreland never made it to the big leagues. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2016/09/09/worried-about-your-aces-100-million-arm-there-is-insurance-for-that/ (This is insuring the entire contract, not just TJ).
  14. Those refusing the vaccination should be denied: The opportunity for military service. Organ transplants. Work in any state or federal agency, any school, any hospital, any first responder job. Entry into any restaurant. Medical insurance.
