I think more along the lines of evaluating several 2022 (draftee) QB's as late (borderline) 1st round graded QB's. In other words, don't trade up for a borderline 1st round grade, let them come to us. And I know teams panic at the last moment for QB's... just don't do it Lions. Don't overdraft. If they all get snapped up within the top 15 picks then draft two highly ranked WR's instead this year at late 1st/ and 2nd round picks and wait until next year on a QB... I guess I am saying I don't think Holmes will panic and lose draft capital unnecessarily chasing QB's that all look like they have flaws that will make them mediocre QB's or less.

Our Democracy is on life support.
-
Expected. We all know Trump attempted to flush our Democracy down the toilet with his Trump Supporters and co-conspirators. And we are not yet out of the woods as he is currently plotting the destruction of our Democracy with the same cast of fascists/ insurrectionists/ capitulators as on January 6th and before. Trump is the poison in the well. And the Republican Party as it stands right now is trying to get everyone to take a drink from that well and to just ignore all the dead bodies laying on the ground nearby.

"Hey, hey, my, my, Rock and Roll will never die" The earth's immune system is not going to stop humans from continuing to crap all over it. Only we can stop that ourselves... Working on it... working on it...

I wish I could give you 5 stars for this...

Sure... But I still don't see a compelling reason to trade up...
-
Good response.

Yeah... I see no reason to trade up whatsoever. A QB and a WR will fall to us at our second 1st round pick and at our 2nd round pick. I don't see it as any more complicated then letting the draft come to us and if there's a QB the team likes then go ahead and get him (using the Rams pick, not trading up) and there will still be a WR that we like at our 2nd round pick. I believe buddha is categorically not correct that we will be trading up in this draft...

I guess our game plan is to wear out their 16 players with all this scoring...?

3-2 first period... Ugly.

That's crazy. That and we're down 2-1 already.

I wasn't a hard-coded Correa or Bust. I also stated that around here a few times. I wanted Correa because he was the best player. And Baez the least because as a wild swinger I think that will cause serious problems, in the near future. But I also said if we signed him, or anyone "Not-Correa", I'd get on board and get behind that player. Even Baez. It was a soft (not completely serious) Correa or Bust... But now our best outcome is for Hinch to convince Baez to not swing at everything/ anything... For Baez... that means replicating what he did with the Mets, and improving upon that if Hinch etal can get him to do that...
-
Teach Baez to have a lot more patience and a much better discerning eye and we may have a "Correa Equivalent" anyways. Like he did with the Mets in a SSS.

Who were already barefoot anyways so "Shoeless" caught their attention...

That's why we opted out of a weekend like July 4th as that would indeed be a monstrous mess... we'll see about a later weekend... although July in the cool mountains might be a must see anyways... We'll see about that first part... My stamina at the moment is a little less than zero... We'll see how my older aunts & uncles and Mom and Dad fare... My Mom has had foot, knee, back and hip surgeries so I don't think she'll have an easy time negotiating a lot of hills...

We're going to have a family reunion in the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee last week in July. We haven't had a reunion in over 10 years... We're a bit of a Michigander Diaspora. Searching for jobs and we ended up in: Florida, California, Texas, Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, England (my sister has lived outside of London for over 25 years...), maybe some other states with the great grandkids but I've lost track. Tennessee is roughly in the middle for everyone. Between Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and kids... I think we have roughly 100 coming in... Grandma & Grandpa had 9 kids which got us off to a nice little start on that...

Oh how I want to see arrests of some of these Congressman while they are IN SESSION: "Jim Jordan, you are under arrest for Sedition against the United States of America". Handcuffed in front of the entire congress, and walked out the door...

Hah!!! Now with Kingpin? Now I gotta remember which Vigilante series he was in, and which season... And I know he made it into more than one series/ season so... Wait... wasn't Vera Farmiga his love interest in his main vigilante series? Funny, at the start of this episode, just as Jack Duquesne was getting arrested I thought "OH, her mom is going to go bad...". I blazed through the different vigilante series and was ok with some of it but... it didn't sink in like the rest of the MCU...

That doesn't bother me either. It's a rebuild. We are going to suck. Goff plays perfectly into that anyways...

I thought Barry actually did demand a trade and the Lions refused to consider it. And I think players had less power then so he was stuck with the Lions or he could retire. If my faulty memory serves...

Having a historical attachment does not mean that Putin OWNS Ukraine. Russia does not OWN Ukraine, in fact, Stalin BRUTALIZED Ukraine because of their independent farmers refusal to join in with Stalin's "collectives". Which directly led to their deaths, as well as a resulting "collective" famine that wiped out 10-12 million Ukrainians IIRC... Putin definitely has an emotional attachment to Ukraine, because of the historical connections (Kiev as the birthplace of the Rus (who everyone knows... were Swedish Vikings)), but Ukraine still has the right to self-determination. And they have decided that they prefer the European Unions capitalistic economy versus Putin's kleptocracy/ dictatorship... and have also decided that they are safer under NATO's brotherhood of like-minded democracies rather than under Russia's/ Putin's KGB/ Mafia/ Police State. Putin did after all steal Crimea from them as well as southeastern Ukraine's two provinces of Donetsk & Lugansk. FYI in case anyone cares...
