  1. And I am sure he doesn't need anyone to tell him that. He knows. Now we see what he's made of. We know he's got the talent but does he have the will to destroy to get to the next level? We'll find out. They can't sit still. They have to find ways to get a couple players here. Gotta be creative. We won't get any stars to come here, Detroit's not a glamourous place, even though it's better. Gotta find the right mix of guys. They have encouraging youth with Cade, Thompson, Holland, Duren and Ivey to build around.
  2. Hell of a season, Pistons. One of the greatest single-season turnaround in Detroit sports history. Right up there with the 2006 Tigers. Couldn't close them out in 3 of the games in the playoffs. That's common for a young team, gotta learn that. Need a healthy Jaden Ivey and one more player next year. You've got expectations now. That's a good things. The Bad Boys and Goin' To Work Pistons went through this at the start too. I'm not bagging on Cade too much, it's part of learning. Remember, Isaiah threw the inbound pass away against the Celtics.
  3. Well, you are listening like an 11 year old, but your falling asleep in the 3rd inning like a post 60-year old.
  4. With only that railing there, I am surprised that more beers and purses and stuff don't get kicked onto the field (by accident). Maybe they do...
  5. I really want to know the backstory of what was going on with this fan in Pittsburgh. Was he totally drunk? Was he trying to do some sort of stunt? Was it a suicide attempt? Did he try to do a handstand on that railing? That was so bizarre. It almost look like something fake, but he landed on his head and he is in critical condition. If he does recover, the chances of him having a memory of the event are pretty slim.
  6. We're hoping that by the time Skubal is ready for Free Agency, that Jobe is the new ace. I think that's why they brought him up now - to learn now so by 2027 when Meadows, Carpenter, Greene and Tork are in their prime and McGonigle, Max Clark, Liranzo are coming up, they're won't need a Skubal quite as much. But, I just have a strong feeling that we won't even have a season in 2027. This upcoming CBA is going to be a war.
  7. 7 years at $188 would be a bargain and there is no way that Boras is ever accepting that. 26 mil a year? NO WAY. I think it's probably closer to 8 years, $280 - and that would be the hometown discount. He's not signing for less than $35 million a year. 8/280 would be a great and and substantial and realistic offer for the Tigers. But be prepared for Steve Cohen to step up and offer 10 for 550 or something insane like that, especially if the Mets don't win the series in 25 or 26. If we don't win it, you should root for the Mets to win it because it might possibly stop Cohen from stepping in and doing something you absolutely can't do. The money doesn't mean anything to Cohen. He's like Mr. I was in the mid 2000s.
  8. Video of that guy falling out of the stands in Pittsburgh. That looked intentional. It's very bizarre.
  9. A lot of people think point spreads are casinos predicting scores. That has nothing to do with it.
  10. In Bonds' case - there was NO CLEAR POLICY on steroids. In Rose's case it was crystal clear.
  11. Even with that partnership, if a player, manager, coach, team executive or umpire gets caught gambling on baseball, they're gonna be out. We've already lost an umpire and I can't imagine how much they paid that interpreter to take the arrows for Ohtani. Most people with any sense ain't buyin' that story.
  12. Baseball writers are not going to let him in. Especially because he was given the chance to go speak to teams and young people on the dangers of gambling and he refused to do it. They gave him an out and he refused it. Plus, playing the victim.........most people with a shred of dignity hate when someone who put themselves in a hole, play the victim. Ooooh, Poooor Pete. My arse. That dude was every sleazy stereotype of a gambling addict. A lot of these athletes - they get too old to compete because time is undefeated. So they need that edge and gambling is the thing that gives it to them, but I don't want to hear sob stories when it burns them. Phil Mickelson complains about how high his taxes are when he's lost over $40 million from gambling in just a four-year stretch.
  13. The Dalton Varsho catch. Nothing will top this in 2025. It's not possible
  14. Yep. I agree with Chasfh, but it's a money thing. But it's not just the gambling. Rose was a true degenerate through and through. A horrible human being. Plus, putting him in will be like a victory for Trump, who will claim he got him in. They're a lot alike, after all. If you put Rose in, why not Joe Jackson? Why not clear Buck Weaver? No evidence they booted a ball during the World Series. Most evidence is that all Weaver did was stay silent.
  15. I was gambling in Havana I took a little risk Send lawyers, guns and money Dad, get me out of this HEY !
  16. I remember the 2003 Tigers. I think they were 3-25 at one point.
  17. But imagine being in that division even if you weren't terrible.
  18. But Phish, who dominated the fan voting, does not get in. Then why have the fan voting? Carol Kaye got in. I emailed her back in February and she emailed me back. How cool is that? She just turned 90!
  19. Because he knows he's never pitching in a close game again.
  20. Dude, the game just ended. They haven't even showered yet.
  21. 0 Runs Alright Kenta. Well Done, sort of
  22. Now he hits a guy. Come on COME ON.
  23. Come on dude, get out of this inning with no runs. Preserve the shutout.
