  1. Have you noticed the perp in interviews? Not a word about how the victim is doing. Only about how this effects HER. Not a stich of remorse. She needs to spend a few nights in jail, not a long time, but a few nights. She needs to be banned for life from track events. Sorry, I know it was a momentary lapse in judgement, but she cracked the girl's skull and it was 100% intentional. Should it ruin her whole high school and college track career? Yes, it should. This was brutal. Watch, schools will switch to plastic lightweight batons now - all because of this spoiled brat. And, I am sure that in the history of track someone, somewhere has used a baton to strike an opponent or jab them in the ribs, but it wasn't caught on camera. Side note - I was talking about this yesterday at work. How does anyone get away with anything anymore? There are cameras everywhere. In our neighborhood a porch pirate got caught because the cops went to every house with a doorbell or dash cam and tracked the guy right to his own house where they found dozens of amazon boxes. Ripping off his own neighbors. What a great guy. Most detective work now is probably looking at doorbell cams, security cams, traffic cams. And these cameras get better all the time. Going to be easier to spot details like tattoos, decals on cars and license plates. Part of that is scary, but it probably means fewer people get away with stuff. Privacy? Oh, that's dead and buried.
  2. I can't believe you fall for this garbage. Especially in the A.I. era. You Rounders will eat anything they feed you. Tell me how the water does not fall off ! And do you mean to tell me you have people in South America and New Zealand walking upside down? How does that work. You damned Rounders.
  3. Great, now if they could finally ****ing finish ****ing up Oakwood, that would be grand. I mean, how long does it take? Funny thing about it is I almost NEVER see anyone out there working on the road. Plus the traffic lights on Oakwood are stupidly long. THERE IS ALMOST NO FOOT TRAFFIC CROSSING OAKWOOD BOULEVARD ! Why do the red lights need to be 4 minutes long?
  4. Sometimes something really good comes from a place you would not expect. A place not known for culinary fare beyond a frozen beverage. But the K-Mart Sub Sandwich was a masterpiece. Just the right amount of juice, just the right amount of oregano. I miss the K-Mart Sub Sandwich, and I have yet to find it's equal.
  5. Man, just can't catch Indiana or Milwaukee. Those other teams just won't lose two in a row. I want Indiana in the playoffs. THAT would be intense.
  6. I am sick of Al Avila disrobing every chance he gets. He's not as sexy as he thinks he is. Think: Billy Squire's Rock Me Tonite video.
  7. 1. Roster Chaos 2. ?????? 3. Profit. The Roster Gnomes.
  8. I sure like the idea of Pena & Dirks in the booth with Jason a lot better than other options. Petry's okay, but a little dry. Craig Monroe was just flat-out annoying with his cheerleading schtick.
  9. Hinch is Dr. Frankenstein and the roster is The Monster. Outside of Greene, Torres and Rogers (sort of), the rest of the team is just going to be pieced together and it's either going to dazzle us with a stirring rendition of Puttin On The Ritz or it's going to freak out at the sight of fire and destroy everything.
  10. The level of detail in Better Call Saul was incredible. That's one of the things that makes it so great - that they cared SO MUCH about that. Plus the editing in that show was better than any series or TV movie ever. 0 Emmy wins. I don't understand that. Actors get nominated for specific episodes. The producers submit one episode for a character per season. The fact that Michael McKean didn't even get a nomination at any time is actually criminal. The Chicanery episode alone was amazing. He's one of the most underappreciated actors of all time. It's like they're using the fact he was Lenny Kosnowski in Laverne & Shirley against him. The characters were silly, bu he was great in that too. Looking forward to Spinal Tap 2 and hope they didn't wreck their legacy. There are too many smart people wrapped up in that to think that it'll be bad. I can't see Christopher Guest agreeing to do it if it was bad.
  11. It is excellent. It was initially supposed to be an ER reboot (John Wells is attached as EP) and Noah Wyle was going to be John Carter. But Michael Crichton's estate nixed it, so they moved it to a different city and changed Wyle's character. Not only the name, but other details as well. The Crichton estate is suing. So that means any TV show that centers around an ER is automatically theirs now? I don't think so. It's excellent and I don't mind the medical jargon, I worked at a hospital for a decade and know some of it, but a lot of it is newer too, the reason for a new reboot is how things have changed in 10 years. What I don't know, I look up and I love that. They are not dumbing it down. Thanks for that. Too many dumbed down TV shows on as it is. It would be hilarious if old ER cast member started popping up in cameos as an F-You to Crichton's estate for the lawsuit. They were pretty loyal to John Wells. I loved that they brought up the Freedom House Ambulance Service. They were the true first paramedics, but they were staffed by black medics in black neighborhoods so it took a long time for them to get recognized. The Pitt is doing a great job of being about Pittsburgh. A ton of little details.
  12. Let's say it wasn't Gibby's choice to leave. You know what? I'm fine with that. There comes a time when all of us won't be able to keep up anymore. For most of us it will be age. Most people avoid this by retiring when they get the chance, but for those of us who love what we do, there will be a time where we just can't do it anymore and when that happens, the ones who don't recognize it will be asked to leave. It sucks for Gibby, but it was pretty clear last year that he was really struggling. Doesn't make the Tigers the bad guys here. They didn't do it for personal reasons, they likely didn't do it to save money, they did it because it was painfully clear. Parkinsons' Sucks.
  13. Seeing betting lines when I go look up the box score. Seriously, you've got to be a total degenerate to gamble on exhibition baseball. Your finances resting on a lineup full of guesses.
  14. He needs a fresh start somewhere else. He had a great spring last year, but when Olson beat him out, something just snapped with him and the Tigers. It's like his whole career is at stake with every pitch he throws and you can't pitch like that.
  15. I am thinking the 2025 AL Central will see 1st place through 4th place separated by only 5 or 6 games. Maybe even less. And with the Yankees losing Soto and Cole, I don't know if there's a 90 win team in the AL. We could see as many as 9 teams between 82 and 89 wins this year
  16. Those broadcasts are very long days. A lot of people think they show up 30 minutes before the game and just talk about baseball. Not if you are serious about your work and Gibby never half-assed anything. He was probably at the park before noon and probably didn't leave until an hour after the game is over. All that while dealing with the effects of Parkinson's AND the side effects of the Parkinson's meds. Those meds make people exhausted and then the Parky makes it hard to get real sleep. It's a Catch-22. My guess is the Tigers probably went to Gibby and said "Do you really want to put yourself through this so much?" and he probably agreed it was too much. Tough to see a spirited guy get so slowly cut down like this, but he did not sound good last year and I am not angry about that, because his insights were still pretty spot-on, but it made me sad to hear him struggle like that. He'll still be connected in some way.
  17. I think Ibanez is a lock.
  18. Expecting guys who are absolutely going to be on the OD roster to lock in like normal is asking a lot. Spring Training can fool ya. Mike Laga was the King of Spring. Hit .199 over 9 MLB seasons with never more than 6 Home Runs in a season.
  19. or maybe Flaherty is tinkering with a few things that he won't be doing when they start counting.
  20. They are trying to cut down his mileage. But, if you really only need to do this for 2-3 weeks, shouldn't you?
  21. Yes, it is. With Baddoo down, who else is there to pair with Perez? Jones or Kreidler. Yeesh. Greene is only playing center at the end of a game if there are no other options. I sense a (minor) trade coming). Or maybe just an outright release of Kreidler or McKinstry.
  22. LOL. I don't think Meadows has that kind of injury, where it's a toughness issue. It's a nerve thing, right? Those injuries are totally unpredictable. This hurts because the version of Meadows from the last two months of the season is an All-Star. I can't see Perez being the every day CF. It's between Jones or Kreidler. Kreidler has the advantage because he's already on the 40-man roster, but I've never seen much from him. They could go find someone and make a small trade. How about Matthew Gregory Vierling? How close is he? He's pretty valuable to this team.
  23. Something tells me this Meadows injury is a lot worse than we know.
  24. Not too worried about Jordan Balazovich not getting anyone out.
