I like Harold Castro. He is capable of filling in just about anywhere they need him and he puts the ball in play. Willi needs work, but we've seen him hit before and it would be a shame to give up on him too quickly. Paredes is interesting to be a stop-gap. The team is certainly grooming Kody Clemens to be a multi-position guy (A.J. LOVES those guys) and Kreidler is making a case. No more room for Niko. Zack looks like he's never really going to hit. Think about it. They are set at third and should sign Candy long term now. Even with no Jake next year, the catching combo is better than at the start of the year and a catcher should be on their FA list (you'll need more than two at some point. They've got a collection of OFs that can hold things down until Greene is ready, but going for a corner OF could be on the FA list. They will absolutely need a Starter. They need to have 7 capable starters going into the season. You just know deep down in your heart that one of our young guys is getting TJ at some point, because that seems to be the new nomal. Next year they should have Mize-Skubal-Manning automatically. They should re-sign Peralta. So that means you will need 3 more. Not ready to count on Wentz yet. Faedo will probably need a year to recover in the minors Tyler Alexander can be a guy they can (and will ) use, but they need more.

So what happened anyway? Does anyone know? Did Stan Papi buy it and shut it down out of spite?

You know what, I don't think Dan Campbell made any major mistakes in Game 1. Going for it on 4th Down so many times - why not? He's trying to see what kind of guys he might have for the future. Far more important than one game.................and unlike Patrcia's 3 season starters, destroyed by the lowly Jets after scoring on the first play (a player he traded for questioning the defensive scheme, by the way), then blowing the big lead to tie Arizona and then last year's Bears fiasco...........We saw the opposite, the team way down didn't quit, they showed some heart there and I think that's the way they'll play for him.

Okay, its a small sample size, but he is killing it at Toledo. But how good is he defensively, I have never seen him play. Would they be better off to spend on a starting pitcher and corner OF with power? The AJ Hinch player is one who can play multiple spots and be competent. I know they called up E-Sock again. Are they going to sample him at SS? Next year there will be a bench battle between E-Sock, The Castros, Kody Clemens, Niko Goodrum and maybe Kreidler. Yes, the SS list looks good for free agents, but the biggest ones are going to be very expensive and probably would want a long term deal to play here and that means in 4 years in we'd be dealing with a Miggy situation. The second tier looks a little more realistic but that has some downside too. They aren't getting Carlos Correa. He'll want 30 million a year. He's probably going to Yankees or Angels because they are crazy enough to do it. Trevor Storey concerns me a bit too.......How much of his numbers is from playing at Coors? Do they bide their time and wait for someone to step up and claim it. Do they wait in the hopes that Turner doesn't stick with the Dodgers? Will we even have a season in 2022? Who invented liquid soap and why? Where's the happy little tire swing? Anyway, who has seen Ryan play SS ?
