His trial or atleast sentencing was the day after that workout so his mind may have been elsewhere at the time as well. Still doesnt look good either way for him but there is atleast some outside circumstances(brought on by him of course) that could possibly explain his performance that day. With that said my biggest fear with drafting him is how it may effect the mentality of the rest of the team. For 2 years management has preached character and work ethic to the players and now they draft a guy at 6 and in turn give millions a dollar to somebody that atleast on the surface is questionable at both. Could that lead to guys changing their own work ethic after seeing them reward a guy like that?

This is going to be another LONG season and unless there are some meteoric risers I don't think we're going to get any reinforcements down on the farm that could potentially save us except for Parker Meadows of course. -

Maybe the final product will look better but as is it's looking like it's going to be just as tacky and unnatural as I feared. -
It's a shame about Carter cause on the field he would be a perfect here but if there are this much red flags about him I can understand teams not wanting to draft him.

Despite the goose egg there were some positive signs with the offense namely only having 6Ks and drawing 3 walks. That's a step in the right direction I guess. -

Can't argue with the results thus far but the stuff from E-Rod still looks suspect to me. -

Schoop strikes out on a pitch that Wilt Chamberlain would've thought was too high. -

Miggy in midseason form as he hits a soft tailor made DP to end the inning. Looking at that replay they showed going to the break and it appears that with the 1B whiffing on the ball Miggy actually was safe. Surprised they didn't challenge it. Probably figured best case scenario was 2 outs with Miggy on 1st and Schoop at the plate so not worth the risk. -

I see E-Rod is still just throwing junk and hoping it ends up being hit right at somebody. No swing and miss stuff whatsoever. -
You look and see how well the offense played when Swift was at his best, Bijan has an even higher ceiling than that so just imagine how good it would look if he was out there.
-
The more I think about it the more I want Bijan or Carter at 6 assuming we don't do any trades. I think they are the two most likely to make an immediate impact on the team and could take the team to another level. I know that's being shortsighted but when was the last time we were in this type of position in regards to where we were in the division and conference? I want to take advantage of that and get the guy that can help take us over the top even if they may or may not be the best long term solution. We can worry about that with our other picks.
-
Yep, that's the problem with usually taking RBs early is cause normally the teams picking in the top 5 are a couple years away from getting to their window so you waste a portion of their prime years on bad teams like the Giants did with Barkley. That shouldn't be the case with us.
-
To me like just about any other position it comes down to how you view him compared to what you could get later on in the draft. If they feel Bijan is head and shoulders better than any RB they could get in day 2 or 3 then I have no problem taking him at 6 even with the shorter shelf life of RBs. If you get 4-5 elite impactful years out of him where he helps take the offense to another level would anybody really care if he flames out after that and look back at the pick as being a waste?

Speaking of delusional players, I just saw on twitter from a couple different accounts that Odell is searching for a 15m a year contract. Yeah good luck with that.
-
Yeah I don't think Lamar is grasping that it's not necessarily the fully guaranteed contract that teams don't like but the amount that is guaranteed.
-
To me there just isn't a ton of disparity in this draft between the players you can get at 6 and 18 so it really doesn't matter to me if they "reach" for a guy they really like at 6 that they potentially could've gotten at 18.
-
I personally like Witherspoon the best out of all the DBs, to me he just fits the mold of what you want in your top DB and could potentially be a lock down guy from day 1 like Sauce was last year and Surtain II was the year before.

We'll get the number 1 pick but Weaver won't draft Victor cause we already have Duren, Wiseman and Bagley. -
I was always more stubborn on Castro than most were, partially because he started in the Cleveland system and not ours, was relatively praised by national guys that I respect when we got him for Martin and because he did actually perform well his first full year in Toledo and in turn the 50 game COVID year. He struggled in 2021 and 22 but so did alot of our guys but he atleast showed at some point not too far in the past that he could hit unlike a good majority of our roster or would be roster.

The Pistons have 1 win in the last 46 days. Incredible tanking! -
I sometimes feel like Birkett likes to be the wet blanket and Debbie Downer to any Lions optimism from the fans so I wouldn't be surprised if he mocks Skoronski to the Lions just cause he knows that is the player that a good chunk of Lions fans probably want the least. Probably has them taken Mayer with the 18th pick as well just to crush their hopes even more.
-
Assuming they don't want to use a 1st on a WR like Johnston I like Petty, Cedric Tillman and Bryce Ford-Wheaton as potential 2nd-3rd round options that could fill that x role.
-
In regards to the Lions facility move I'm almost certain that it will either be downtown or in Oakland County somewhere. I don't know if they gave a reason for the move but with how Campbell and Co. talk about Sheila caring about the players and listening to any grievances they may have I wonder if the drive to Allen Park was something the player(s) brought to her attention which is what sparked this move. If that is the case she surely is going to make the trip easier for the players that I assume mostly live out in the Northern Suburbs.

Marvin at his age isn't going to put up Pro Bowl numbers but really he doesn't need to with ARSB and hopefully Jamo producing. We just need him to be his reliable self and be a guy who can get some of those 50/50 balls and move the chains. Still want a bigger outside receiver in the draft that could potentially provide more upside than Marvin but it isn't as pressing of need now in the short term.
