I feel like we needed a dB even more last year and Brad stuck to his guns and wasn't willing to sacrifice the future for it.
Feel this year will be no different, if the rumored day 3 pick asking price for Smith is true he may go for that but don't see anything bigger than that.
I love the "game chainsaw" bit, also got a kick out of them freaking out that Flores thinks they are all Tua.
Edit: Just re-watched it and I didn't notice at first that the chainsaw DC is using is branded as a "Black and TAYLOR Decker" lol
There's an article on ESPN breaking down Richardson's accuracy issues and it concluded that yeah he isn't Drew Brees or even an average QB when it comes to accuracy but he may not be as inaccurate as the raw numbers(completion percentage) indicate. They found the main culprit for the low number is the type of throws he makes. He doesn't make many check down or easy throws that boost accuracy numbers but instead tries to make the hero throw every time.
Did the same thing in college which is why NFL teams thought that his accuracy numbers would improve in the NFL with better coaching and just more football maturity to him. Thus far it hasn't been the case at all.
A guy on X posted all the incompletions from the Texans game and very few of them were because he just whiffed on an easy throw, most were either drops by the receivers, balls deflected by the defense or throws that very few NFL QBs could possibly complete.
What's wild is that currently the 7th seed is 5-2. Things will surely change by the end of the year but as it stands you'd have to be a 12 win team to make the WC in the NFC.
Stating the obvioud but The Lions also benefited greatly by Goff's resurgence.
If the Lions were forced to use an early pick on a QB like they would have If Goff didn't turn it around the landscape would look much different.
Definitely one of the strangest games in recent memory, in many aspects this is the worst the Lions offense has looked in awhile yet the team is at 49 points half way through the 3rd quarter.
BTW Gibbs hit 23MPH on his TD run, fastest speed for a Lions ball carrier since 2016 and 2nd fastest in the NFL this year just behind Brian Thomas of the Redskins.
Decker's potential decline is the one hangup for me about dealing potential 1sts for a pass rusher. I feel like we're gonna need a 1st to use on a potential replacement for him.
Can't believe Boone walked to load the bases, I know it gave him a platoon advantage but not only did it make a single beat you more importantly it forces the pitcher to throw strikes. Cortes does not have the type of command to paint the corners so Freeman knew he was gonna be getting something good.
I remember reading some of the articles about him when we acquired him and one(I think FG) said that his arm wasn't good and may prevent him from sticking at catcher so it's good to hear somebody not only say that it isn't bad but that it is good. Stating the obvious but if he can stick at catcher with his bat to ball skills he is going to be a stud.
