  1. Don't forget Melifonwu who missed a lot of time to injury. They drafted 4 defensive players last year within the 1st 4 rounds last year. There's reasonable expectation to expect improvement from them. They have three picks within the first 34 picks. Probably at least 2 will be defensive players.
  2. Anzalone signed for $1.75 in guaranteed money. He signed for backup money. He is in no way a future piece or blocking someone better from playing. His contract in no way guarantees him a starting spot. Onzuwerike was a rookie. You seriously talking about upgrading already? Walker signed a contract that would be of one is fine but not great. You also didn't want them to sign Marcus Williams but then say they are just running back the same team.
  3. Raymond's contract is a 2 year deal "up to" $9.5 million. I really hope that is packed with incentives.
  4. When Goff had that kind of supporting cast, he was a Pro Bowler and went to the Super Bowl.
  5. Raymond had 48 catches and 576 yards and 4 TDs. Not bad for a guy that projects to be no higher than the 4th WR. Could fall to 5th or 6th if the Lions draft a receiver. He was also a pretty solid punt returner.
  6. Kalif Raymond has been re-signed.
  7. So then why were you complaining about the Lions re-signing two defensive players from last year? Your whole point was why bring back the same players that led to a 31st ranked defense. If they let Walker and Harris walk, they would be even worse than last year.
  8. It's the same argument as the Lions defense was bad so we shouldn't re-sign anyone.
  9. Jacksonville had the 29th ranked defense so we probably shouldn't sign Jack. I mean, who wants a LB that even Jacksonville doesn't want?
  10. It's not like they brought back Trey Flowers. They drafted 4 defensive players last year, will most likely draft a starting pass rusher this year, and are returning their top pass rusher and corner from injury.
  11. I would rather they just continue to draft and develop than go the Jacksonville route and just throw big dollars at OK players. I would have given Marcus Williams the same contract as Baltimore did but it's probably hard to say no to a team like Baltimore and sign with the Lions.
  12. To put it in perspective, the defense before Campbell and Glenn arrived gave up the 2nd most points in NFL history. The defense Glenn inherited was worse than the 0-16 Lions defense. On top of that, they lost their top corner and best pass rusher to an Achilles injury and not to mention the other myriad of injuries. They also drafted two defensive lineman, a LB, and a CB last year. I'm sure they're expecting development out of those players as well.
  13. Chase Daniel has made $23 million in his career (now $25 million) and has started 5 games in his career. He has 261 pass attempts. He's been paid roughly $88k per pass attempt in his career.
  14. Okwara is coming off an Achilles injury. Those aren't easy to come back from. He is in no way a sure thing next year.
  15. Not every player on the defense was bad and the only two they signed of note were Walker and Harris who were decent last year.
  16. I would like to see the guarantees but that is probably a little more than I would have liked to have paid.
  17. What is Jacksonville doing?
  18. I'm glad the Lions are showing restraint so far on Harris. He was a bust coming into this season who then had a nice season. I would still be apprehensive about committing a lot to him right now. I would go all in on Marcus Williams. Tracy Walker signed effectively a two year deal. Williams is young and should be the future beyond two years. I wouldn't let Tracy Walker's contract deter me from signing Williams. You can backload Williams contract if you have to.
  19. A healthy Chark is probably better than all those receivers.
  20. Hard not to like the deal. He's still only 25 and has size and speed. If the injuries continue to be a problem, you aren't committed long term.
