  1. Could you point out “All the signs that pointed to a bounce back that were right there”?
  2. I think Yzerman is smart enough to not overbid, which I think would be the case of offering both first round picks (+) for Debrincat. Start with an offer of the 17 plus a player, be ready to add one second round pick, or substitute the player to a slightly better one, but don’t bid against yourself. Not every team that would like Debrincat is in a position to do so cap-wise. Or at least without significant hassles.
  3. Not Russian territory, not a Russian nuclear plant, and not Russian people. Other than that, the meme is spot on. Posting crap that bolsters the war criminal invaders propaganda, what a pathetic waste.
  4. Was an actual planned move mentioned? As in, we’ll have him in LF for a month or more… or are they thinking of him as a 3B, and want him to keep whatever LF skills he has from slipping? I can see value in letting a young player focus for extended periods at one position as a development goal, rather than the chess pieces idea. At least in the minors.
  5. Yes, but I’d kind of like to.
  6. Agreed that being buyers this year is unlikely and probably not a good idea. That said, I have been imaging what the roster could be like next year. Keep the ones that have shown they belong this year, drop a bunch of payroll and use it for some solid players to add. Plus the pitchers that should be back to health, hopefully. McKinstry Greene Tork Carpenter New FA Malloy or Keith Baez Rogers/Haase Baddoo i could see that being a reasonably good offense.
  7. I suspect any trade value for Schoop is dependent on another team’s injury situation. A contending team could ante up something minor to get them through a stretch while their regular players are on the DL (60 day?).
  8. Roger Dean for the win.
  9. In my ideal world, Miggy goes to the DL, Carpenter is back at DH, Schoop goes away and Nevin is given another shot, with Kreidler an option when he’s healthy. Keith and Malloy get more time in the minors and benefit from it. Miggy gets a chance to return later for a send off. No, I don’t expect that to all happen. 😕
  10. Hope to have Carpenter active soon.
  11. No offense, but I take an internet poster’s opinion of ERod’s “loyalty and teamsmanship” with a huge grain of salt. It may be very accurate, but is still just an opinion.
  12. His “justification” for his rights- to drive his SUV over protestors was both insightful and iciteful. 😳. That and the Infowars garbage.
  13. Instead, they increased it.
  14. Chas, I think you are way, way off in characterizing posters stance on this. IMO. 😎
  15. Does this increase the odds of them picking Bijan? Less WR capabilities (for 6 games), but more RB punch (and RB passing targets).
  16. Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly is a term I was previously unfamiliar with.
  17. If he’s a horse, give him invermectin, if he’s hoarse, give him a Ricola.
  18. Wow, I hadn’t realized you had briefed Trump. 😎
  19. Are you suggesting replacing Hinch with “another mediocre manager”? At this point finding anyone competent who wants to manage the team would be challenging and likely produce similar results or worse.
  20. Bud Light is a sin (non-religious type) for what’s in the can, not what’s on the can.
  21. Agree that the 40 games was meant allowing sufficient time to have an idea about the team, it’s strengths and weaknesses, not so much about record.
  22. What is your favorite color?
