  3. ah, hadn't known that was part of the uni change. see through and wacky-lowered names
  4. is it just me or is the font and/or lettering size or placement for player names on the jersey backs looking different this year?
  5. a little cushion sure would be nice here
  6. Must be the money! Pitchers will get dinged in contract negotiations/arbitration for ERA. No ghost runner earned run = a non-zero impact on keeping ERAs low
  7. Is a young Julie Andrews there?
  8. sounds more like a term of endearment for a cellmate

  10. Torkelson spends significant time in AAA, Mark Canha is the primary 1B
  11. That is my recollection of 2011 with Brad Penny, maybe that is who gehringer_2 was thinking of
  12. I'll second that, it is a fun book. No analysis, just tales
  13. I know a lot of people on here don't like Turning the Corner but I think it is the best of the bunch. There is some personal banter, but based on stuff I've listened to the personal stuff on TTC is much less than other podcasts. I've tried listening to podcasts from The Athletic, not Tigers-focused but just baseball podcasts, and there is much, much more personal banter and inside-joking on them than on TTC. For me, those are positively un-listen-able. TTC I can manage.
  14. since august 2023 as i recall
  15. He's attempting to set our expectations high so we are disappointed because he hates the Tigers and hates Tigers fans, too
  16. cacti park in the grapefruit league. wtf
  17. I recall it well. Justin Thompson didn't pitch for Texas (or anybody) at all until several years later. I really liked the Cat and was disapppointed when he was traded
  18. Starter pack, not complete equipment
  19. i'm pissed off that nobody owes me $100M
  20. I think the answer to that is "no." In contract law, "consideration" is anything given in exchange. I read this provision to use the phrase "cash consideration" to mean cash given in exchange. The meaning is not different than if "consideration" were dropped; it seems only to convey as sense of specificity for "cash consideration" as opposed to other consideration, like a player contract the proverbial bag of balls.
  21. Every time I think about Kerry, I think about September, and then I think of Boesch. Crossing my fingers
