  1. Seems to me that a successful meme would have depicted him wearing different style vests to correspond to the differing performances
  2. a more RH lineup than I would have anticipated for Elvis
  3. I am pretty sure that anybody on the 40 as of 8-31 can be in the playoffs. For example, this is how the Tigers hope to use Paul Sewald
  4. "here to stay" -- in Toledo -- maybe not so good
  5. This. I have to deal with people who are tough negotiators, and with people who are jerks. Both are difficult to deal with. But I don't mind the first. I do avoid the second. There is also a sour grapes aspect of the comments that Stavenhagen collected -- somebody saying Harris is difficult to deal with maybe just means he wasn't as pliable as that person wanted.
  6. MLBTR says one minor leaguer but does not identify him
  7. Notwithstanding the Tigers limited activity, this has been one of the most active trade deadlines in recent memory
  8. Me either. Feels underhanded?
  9. Woohoo! I attribute this to the resurrection of the No. 40 jersey
  10. Blaze Alexander's parents: a. Knew that he would be fast b. Knew that he would like to smoke weed c. Knew that they liked to smoke weed d. All of the above
  11. Ditto for me, a hair younger. I remember being so excited when Keith Moreland was coming to the Tigers. Alas it was already too late
  12. Javy to CF and Kreidler to SS?
  13. better than uninspired dobnak
  14. i want to say that like his first month with the tigers was stellar and then it all went to sh*t
  15. I feel like the Tigers are on their way to being the answer to a really unfortunate sports trivia question
  16. Now that you say that I can see the French-ness of it
  17. so you're saying he's an improvement over Carlos Hernandez?
  18. Anybody got a pronunciation guide on Dumesnil? Is it Do-mez-nill? Do-mess-nill? Dooms-nill? PS: Reighbourne?
  19. was there one of them that had a better chair? on a halfway related note, to my own surprise, i haven't listened to sports talk radio, outside of actual game broadcasts, since the pandemic started. back then, i didn't want to hear a bunch of yahoos who knew even less than the people who were supposed to know talk about the pandemic. in my mind, that extended into sports. the various hosts don't know more about the tigers than i do. in fact they demonstrated many times that they knew less. i didn't find it entertaining anymore, just annoying.
  20. as little as possible is my preference
  21. i don't know if any of you may get the emails too, but i got the survey link for 'fans at bat' about the all-star game. i made my (hateful) thoughts about the 'swing-off' known.
  22. There at least used to be a lot of real estate that was owned in common with the Lightning; there was a whole development around the Lightning's arena (which took off better than 'the district') and the Lightning ownership group manages (i.e., gets paid for managing) at least some USF Bulls sports stuff.
  23. Actual Tampa, and not St. Pete, would be much closer to most of the population and a heck of a lot easier to access
