  1. i don't know the conditions at comerica but we just had a 5-minute downpour in the fancy 'burbs. now the sun is out again
  2. i've been thinking about this thread and there are so many games i could list. i'll just offer a few that stand out to me. first, ones i was fortunate to attend June 1994 -- Lou's grand slam to win the game September 2003 -- Tigers avoid infamy by beating the twins October 2006 -- first playoff game at Comerica Park October 2006 -- Magglio's homer game October 2012 -- Miggy K's to end the world series September 2014 -- Tigers clinch the central i have a practice of going to the last home game of the year whenever possible. i've seen some cool stuff. the Tigers clinch, other teams clinch, the Tigers dither away a division on tv, game 163 from 2009, game 5 of the 2011 division series, and game 5 of the seattle series last year stand out to me.
  3. some guys will put their wedding ring on a chain when they're playing, because it is uncomfortable (and can actually lead to injury) to wear a ring inside a glove. i don't know if that is finnegan's thing but it is a possible reason for what you saw
  4. it is absolutely pouring on driveways in birmingham
  5. only if you're pitching to yourself like you're ted williams
  6. i agree on maggs being iffy. my thinking was between his home run in 2006 and the batting championship in 2007 he might qualify. gibson seems higher in the pecking order to me, as is lance parrish for being such a big part of the 1980s teams
  7. am i not seeing kaline there? he might be a good choice EDIT: is that him way in the back? i think you could reasonably have any number of others. gibson, magglio both come to mind as being big parts of tigers lore
  8. this caused me to look at the 1978 padres on baseball reference. gene tenace hit only .224 that year but had a .392 obp!
  9. dammit you guys have me googling for her and i can't find ****
  10. bert i think you mean to be in the other thread
  11. I guess Boyd sucks again
  12. so the OF is Greene, Meadows, Vierling, Carpenter sometimes, and Jones sometimes, I guess
  13. I still wonder if he becomes a first baseman
  14. on the team official it seems
  15. i remember hearing this but i don't remember the guy's name. he was a catcher
  16. I mean, Sheridan was named after a tank. Slater . . .
  17. this is my experience also. i recall that it was not this way in the past. as recently as last year (i think) i just clicked 'watch' and could watch spring games. no more.
  18. yeah, those are definitely related. the forearm thing fits with that, too. that's a funny thing about what is going on with stanton. tennis elbow has a lot to do with forearm tendons-muscles. i've had it, and there are many things you can do per normal, but others, even simple ones like opening a bottle, can be really painful
