So how long until Santa Ono gets in trouble for something stupid. It seems inevitable the way things are going in Ann Arbor these days.

Much of this debate has to do with what percentage someone puts on Goff having another year like he had this year. I’m definitely over 50% but I want to see another year to put me in that range where I’m really confident that he’s the QB for the long term. I don’t see it as a big deal if others aren’t sold yet. He’s under what has now become a really nice contract for next year based on his potential production. Let him do it again for another year and then we can extend him and anoint him QB of the future. Drafting a QB now or not, doesn’t change any of that.

A Ramsey trade would also open me up to a luxury pick with one of the 1st’s. That could be a QB, Bijan Robinson, or Matthew Meyer. They could trade Swift to help off set whatever later round pick they use acquire Ramsey. If they don’t take Bijan in the 1st, they can add a back later in the draft of FA.

I wouldn’t trade either 1st but I’d do it if they would take a 2nd now and maybe something later in 2024 like a 3rd or 4th. I’m not concerned about the cap hit. They have the money to cover now and it’s only going to dramatically increase in the coming years. Good teams don’t let the cap stop them anymore. It would immediately turn our biggest weakness into a strength. He also will help Okudah, our draft pick this year, and if they choose to keep a Jacobs, Hughes, or Lucas. He’s definitely the type of dog they are looking for in the locker room too. I think I just talked myself into doing it.

I hope this team gets really good soon so we can stop constantly talking about the past. It’s such a shitty history and I can’t wait to move beyond it all.

Sheila’s most underrated move was removing Ford as her last name and going with Hamp.

I think it would be a waste to pick a QB in the first round because I don’t like any of them. Young is a smaller, less mobile Tua that has always played with great players who in turn made him look better. Levis is a crap shoot. I can see the skills sometimes but I get more Zach Wilson vibe that I do Herbert or Allen. Richardson is a project that I fear will try to do too much and screw up our offense that relies on the QB making the smart play and not trying to be Superman all the time. I like Stroud the best but he’s a big guy with a nice arm that isn’t really that mobile. He sounds like a younger, less experienced version of Goff. I’d rather have JG. Still on the Bresee & top available cb train. I also still think Noah Sewell is going to be one of the picks. His workouts will determine if he’s late first or late 3rd or beyond.

Thank you. Now I understand. All of these minor violations are a result of bitter ex-employee that was terminated. Any wrongdoing uncovered isn’t justified since it’s part of a smear campaign meant to hurt the program. As always need to include the required mention that this stuff goes on everywhere and the SEC and USC have all been doing it for years. The NCAA and its rules are antiquated and dumb.

I don’t blame him for fighting at this point. He was dumb to not own up to minor infractions with even more minor penalties. Still, that was the path he chose and now It would be an even dumber move to sign a paper admitting to a type 1 infraction.

Interesting take on the QB’s and a very similar discussion that was going on here about Bijan. A deep CB draft is also nice. We need a few new ones.

Same Old Lions still goes back and forth about the value of Matt Stafford. Brand New Lions only cares about Matt Stafford as a guy that got us the #6 pick.

I’m not sure any will take less from the Lions if presented a bigger offer in free agency. I could see someone taking a fair number with the Lions before the market opens and not opting to see if a better offer is out there for them in FA.

If true, I think this is terrible agenting. You need to interview well before getting any head coaching job no matter how much interest a team shows (see Harbaugh Vikings). Every interview is great experience to take on to the next one. I think he made a mistake as a first time HC candidate by not taking advantage of the opportunity to interview. You also never know where someone in that room will be in 5 years, an impressive interview now with Carolina or Indy could be what gets him an ideal job somewhere else down the road with an executive that’s moved jobs to a different organization.

It’s been a decade since the move but what a disaster the Red Wings shift to Eastern Conference has been. I know it’s all cyclical but it’s so much easier for teams in the West right now.

I’m not sure that I understand why anyone would cite the agent of a candidate instead of a source with a team. Seems like only a team source would have information that matters on who the team likes in the search.

Another crazy thing is Ben Johnson is a Carolina boy. Raised in Asheville and went to UNC. He probably grew up rooting for those early Panthers teams yet he still turned them down to stay here. Things are definitely changing around here.

Sheila is quickly stacking up some wins. She deserves a ton of credit for this success. Every card she’s flipped since flushing Quintricia has been aces. Sure, it’s a miniature bar but she’s already become the best owner in town.
