  1. NCAA is preparing new measures in its attempt to crack down on NIL in recruiting. Uncertain if they will try and retroactively punish some of the schools for events that have happened in the last 2 recruiting cycles or if they will try from this point forward. Either way they will probably fail like they always do. It’s the NCAA.
  2. The mythical NFL salary cap.
  3. That’s funny. I was going to ask in the OP if your ridiculous dismissal of the entire article over the use of quotations over a single word in a single example among many others cited was your thought or UM blogosphere groupthink. Got my answer. It’s almost a FoxNews like, the obsession the UM cronies let Sam Webb and the MGoBlog boys have over their opinion. They use their platform to vigorously defend the program at all costs and people will believe whatever blue flavored spin they put out there. Replace libs and snowflakes with Spartan and Buckeye and the Detroit media with fake news. The call and response behavior between the two are eerily similar.
  4. What’s going on here? Someone here joked after the Santa/Harbaugh tweet exchange that Ono did but Jim never did actually saying he was definitely coming back. This is crazy if true that he secretly took a 2nd meeting with the Broncos owner last week. What is with this guy. Does there come a point where people finally get tired of his schtick and stop giving credence to anything that comes out of his mouth.
  5. Sparty hit job? This was the thesis of the article. While these issues vary in the nature of seriousness, what they seem to share is a lack of consistency, transparency and accountability in the response from the program and the school that we should demand from all public institutions. He pointed out almost 10 different situations across many sports where he felt they failed proper transparency and accountability. You ignore all of them and every other word because he put “attacked” in quotations when describing the tunnel incident. Disagree with his points all you want and champion the great work of Warde Manuel but this is not a hit job article by any means.
  6. Big game tonight. Hopefully they come out uninspired. Stupid turnovers, shots not falling, and they really dig in on not playing any defense. LNFG Pistons!
  7. What the hell is wrong with this guy? This would’ve never happened on Jerry Springer’s watch.
  8. Not necessarily. Teams deep in the playoff hunt that see themselves as really good 2nd line Center away would make the deal without an extension to get the player.
  9. That was Same Old Tater. He’s gone and been replaced by Brand New Tater.
  10. They are still getting 90% of McDonald’s AA team in college. What happens to the product when that number drops to 20% or lower?
  11. I watched a few games recently and I am definitely a bit worried for the future of college basketball. They have a big problem as the style of play in the NBA continues to evolve. The two leagues are almost at polar opposites. The coaches are still the headlining stars of CBB and they all have the same defense first system. Coaches are figureheads in the NBA these days and defense is a thing of the past. I don’t see how playing for an Izzo, Few, or Cronin is going to prepare someone for the pro game right now. These other options that include G-League and Overtime Elite are going to pass the college game very soon when it comes to getting the top high school talent. Shockingly, it won’t be because of money. It will be that CBB style of play is stuck in the past and players find better places to develop their game for the next level. Why go somewhere where a coach determines your playing by how well you commit to playing defense when that has no bearing on your future NBA draft status. It reminds me a little of where Boxing was at in the early 2000’s as MMA was starting to come on the scene. The big boxing promoters of the day thought the sport was too entrenched in popularity and never gave any credence to an obvious threat until it was too late. Not sure how CBB fights this one but I expect they won’t even try as the fat cat coaches will do nothing and continue to collect the checks until the golden goose is dead.
  12. The shady stuff that was the accepted norm at Michigan just didn’t fly at an above board program like Miami. 🧌
  13. Or it was all the same person, the Florida scout that lives in Gainesville and watches the SEC as they come in.
  14. It sucks they can’t use a 40% off any item coupon for that.
  15. Steve Wilks would’ve come cheaper and would probably do a better job.
  16. Among all the silly Mayer talk, interesting that Jeremiah only has him rated 3rd right now.
  17. This has the potential to drastically impact the current financial models of all sports not named NFL.
  18. If you don’t watch this show, you should.
  19. This randomly popped up in my feed and made me go hmm.
  20. So much for all those morons who said they’d never play a game in Detroit.
  21. You should thank them. Facebook has one good use. Keeping up with kid and pet pictures of friends and family that you don’t see all the time. It’s a complete waste of time for anything other than that. Don’t even get me started on the folks that want to use it to argue politics and social issues.
  22. I don’t believe that is right. Mahomes and Allen both signed extensions earlier than allowed but Mahomes didn’t kick in until this season and Allen next season. Both Chiefs and Bills played 2021 season with QB rookie deals against the cap. Burrow obviously was the other.
  23. I’m not sure why any corner would choose to play in the Pac-12. The game is officiated so differently between what’s called in the SEC and B1G. Any physical play becomes a flag and it seems to inhibit guys developing good ball and cover skills. It’s really noticeable if you spend time watching the league. I’d take a some of these guys with later round picks for sure but I’m not sure that I’d ever spend a 1st round pick on Pac-12 corner. They would have to be super special and have plays that jump off the tape.
  24. Was there talk of Stanford firing him if he didn’t resign on his own or was his job safe for as long as he wanted it?
