I would love to know more on the decision to not refer to themselves as the Sacramento A’s in the interim. Is this an MLB mandate based on something in their rules or is it 100% Fisher’s call? Either way it’s a huge mistake. Sac could have been a very viable backup option if Vegas get too costly had he not screwed the fans over. It’s a small market but there’s quite a bit of wealth and more than enough sports starved fans to fill seats. It’s also close enough to Oakland to keep many of their core fans. He would’ve made a ton of money on merchandise and local sponsors had he changed the name from the get go. Instead, he’s got ads from Las Vegas tourism board on the wall of the power alleys as another slap in the face of Sacramento. His best move may be to flip and embrace Sacramento by changing the name and see if he can make it a permanent home. Maybe Vivek can buy in and give Fisher an influx of cash.

You’ve got to get with the times. You can’t just say all murder and child rape is bad anymore. It needs to be qualified. If you are an illegal immigrant there should be no expectation of protection from either of these crimes. New month, same rant. It’s so misleading to refer to this as our unemployment rate. They are preliminary, unadjusted, employment numbers from June. We will get a more accurate picture on what the numbers really should be next month and won’t know the actual number until next February due to our antiquated and easily manipulated survey system from BLS. The Kings are in a much different spot than the Wings. They have to make moves. They have a solid core of veteran players but it’s proven to not be good enough to get past the Oilers. They can’t run it back again and hope the 4th time will be different. Moving on from Rob Blake was the right move but hiring Holland is already a disaster. His first move to keep his buddy Jim Hiller is now made worse by Gavirkov taking less to not play for him. Throwing term at stiffs like Ceci and Dumoulin and signing Corey Perry has mad the team worse for more than just one year.

I’m in favor of anything Sophie Cunningham.

The Dumoulin deal isn’t any better. 3 and 4 year terms for 3rd pair blue liners on the wrong side of 30.

I’m not on him for not competing for cups but he’s been unable to even get them in the playoffs. Every other GM that is still around from 2019 has either made the cup or had multiple playoff runs. His results are unprecedentedly bad in the league. Nobody ever talks about the coaches. I’m of the opinion that he kept Blashill on for too long. IMHO, He really should’ve changed coaches when he first got the job. He definitely should’ve fired him at least a year earlier than he did. Hiring Lalonde was also terrible mistake. The wrong guy that set the plan back more. Stevie takes very little heat for these coaching moves and I’m not sure why.

The fans are bitching because almost anyone else would’ve been fired by now. He was hired in 2019. It shouldn’t take this long to just make the playoffs a single time.

FWIW, Suter/Parise had less to do with the Wings and more to do with being sold the dream to come back home and make NHL hockey matter in Minnesota
