  1. McGonigle, Clark, Briceno, maybe Liranzo too.
  2. A foot away from that Vegas magic
  3. But It’s the same short porch for everyone playing. Why would his odds be better than a Riley Greene, Brandon Lowe, or even Colt Keith?
  4. We get to test the theory that Vegas always knows something. Despite his 3 week slump and 0 for 9 in his career against Rays starter Ryan Pepiot, Carp has the best odds to hit a home run of anyone on either team today. Doesn’t make much sense but he will probably end up hitting one out. Maybe even two.
  5. It’s a long season and everyone does slump. I agree. This Carp slump has gone on a full month. I think he breaks out of it at some point but this one is really bad. 30 day stats after last night: .184/.215/.355 3 HR 5 RBI 1 BB 22 K As bad as these are, they are even worse factoring in the 3 HR and 5 RBI came in one game on June 2.
  6. What do they do about Carp? This slump is going on 3 weeks. Since that 3HR game against the White Sox: 5 hits in 37 AB 0 HR 0 RBI 0 BB
  7. I will be surprised if it doesnt sound like Comerica South all weekend.
  8. The quest for the latest tech has killed America’s Cup for me. They aren’t even really sailboats anymore.
  9. Unlimited PTO has a few main purposes: 1) PTO is no longer accrued, so it’s no longer a fixed line item on a corporate budget. 2) Eliminates the cost and effort of having a time management system in HR. 3) Marketed as a perk to employees but is really a corporate mindf as many people get scared to use more vacation time for fear of being thought of as a slacker and having it impact their chances of raises and promotions.
  10. Rolen’s resume was bolstered by his defense. The 8 gold gloves definitely played a big part in his enshrinement. Arenado had 10 straight. That’s a big number if the voters are going to value them.
  11. Since Scott Rolen made it, I’d think Nolan Arenado should be a lock.
  12. I feel bad for the folks at The Onion. Their job of creating ridiculous tweets that can’t be believed has gotten increasingly harder in this administration.
  13. It will be interesting to see if they stay the course with these players or if they create a package to acquire Giannis or Jokic.
  14. The Undrone Soldier is the best
  15. This one has a chance to be very different since it’s on the same day as Trump’s $100M May Day Parade. People are turning out in mass all across the country while Trumps event will be sparsely populated. It will be an easy litmus test on where the country stands on his policies. Hopefully, it will energize the opposition again and scare the **** out of maga.
  16. I just drove by the rally in Novi. Huge turnout! There were easily 1000 people spread out on all sides of Grand River.
  17. I don’t know how things are going to play out today. It could go many ways. Hopefully everything is peaceful. What I am 100% positive is that Trump will tell us that his parade was the greatest parade in the history of parades and of course lie about how many people actually showed up.
  18. Private Equity is always looking for a well timed, profitable exit. Normally thats done by either going public, selling it outright, or gutting it for assets. Not sure what the exit is from a college football team. It makes sense if it’s a billionaire looking to pump up his alma mater and funneling the money through his business.
  19. I looked into a rally near me and it appears to be a gathering at the corner of an intersection. I support the cause but I vowed long ago to never be a sign carrying roadside picketor. I can’t stand those people.
  20. I agree that people don’t care about minor league sports. They care deeply about college football. They care even deeper about NFL football. So, if college football were to be replaced with an NFL minor league, people would care a whole bunch. I’m not taking about an NBA G-League model that lures a few top names and mixes them in with a majority of fringe NBA players. I’m talking about a model where all the top college aged players trying to be NFL players would go.
  21. Do most of these NFL owners seem like the cautious, risk adverse business people that value the process of creating wealth? Maybe a few but most are now the 2nd generation that inherited their teams. They grew up as billionaires kids that never actually had to go out and make the money. It was always just there for them. These are some of America’s wealthiest families. I don’t think many understand and therefore don’t care about risk and cost expenditures. They never had to their entire life and why would they now they are banded together as billionaire NFL club.
  22. I think just the opposite. The NFL has shown they always want a bigger piece when they can get it. If there’s a new revenue stream to be tapped, they tap it. Franchise Expansion (that’s coming again soon), moving games to foreign countries, scheduling games on Thursday’s and holidays, turning the draft into its own profitable event, Expanding the regular season and playoffs. The list goes on. College football hasn’t been something they have wanted to challenge in the past. If that relationship changes in this new era, it creates a huge opportunity for them to make many billions of dollars more.
  23. Series comes down to this OT. Oilers have to win it. The can’t recover from coming back from 3-0 only to lose the lead in the dying seconds.
  24. I’m wonder how long until China invades Taiwan.
