  1. Possibly but he’s a 34 year old rental. I can see them taking a group of prospects all from outside the top 100
  2. They weren’t going to trade either. It made sense when they were 13.5 out a few weeks ago. Now at 8 games, they are more apt to buy than sell at this point.
  3. AJ is lucky that baseball isn’t hockey.
  4. I feel the same way about Rainer. Untouchable now. He may be the best of all of the prospects.
  5. I want Suarez. He fits in perfectly as the RH power bat in the middle of the lineup. We’d also keep him from joining the Yankees or Mariners. He’d be a rental which should help his cost lower on the trade market even if there is a bidding war. I’m also not interested in giving up Clark, McG, Briceno, or Rainer for anyone. They have enough nice pieces in this deep farm to acquire a quality rental. Bednar is a close 1B for almost all the same reasons.
  6. Can’t believe he’s dead just a few weeks after the final show. Crazy, but that’s how it goes.
  7. Bear season 4 has been much better. I’m 6 episodes in so there’s still time for a swan dive. I’m about 50/50 on whether it happens or not.
  8. I probably agree with Hunter on the state of the Democratic Party and the roles of some of the people he mentioned. He’s blaming all these people for pushing his dad out and ignoring what happened at the debate. Everything changed after that. If Joe could’ve kept it together that night, nothing happens and he’s still the nominee. I say this with the full assumption that both Hunter and the party leaders knew that Joe was in cognitive decline and would most likely not complete the term if elected. They chose to push it under the rug and hope they could get across the finish line before it became evident. They missed by 3 months. The decision to back Harris turned into an even bigger mistake.
  9. KC have called up Dik Mountain and at 45 years old is back for his 21st season in the bigs.
  10. I’ve flip flopped a bit and now think the dumbest way to look at this situation is to be concerned with years 6,7, and 8 of the contract. Pay him whatever even if there are ugly years at the end. Focus on the window of the next 6 years and try to get into 2 or 3 WS and get lucky to win 1 or maybe even 2. All in on that goal and then worry about the mess you’ve made afterwards. We’d all be happy with dominating 6 year stretch with a title or two and would take whatever doldrums followed.
  11. The exact moment.
  12. That’s huge! There was no way this team was doing anything against Eovaldi.
  13. Reese allowing no hits through 4.
  14. It’s a done deal. ESPN isn’t even going to try to match.
  15. The Carlos Hernandez experiment needs to end. It’s ridiculous at this point that he’s taking Dylan Smith’s roster spot.
  16. Even Jags, Bengals, and Browns fans are laughing. Kevin Warren is a such a fraud. Good on him for constantly securing all these high level leadership positions without an ounce of acumen.
  17. This seems true of most current ballplayers that have even a modicum of power.
  18. Don’t sleep on James Wood. He will be the face of MLB in 4 or 5 years when he’s able to leave the Nats and join the Yanks, Mets, or Dodgers.
  19. I was just coming to post this exact thing
  20. I am not afraid to say that I have no idea what this really means. I’d guess 90% of NBA fans are in the same group. It reminds me of the early days of sabermetrics in baseball. That complexity has proven to have tangible predictive qualities that were an improvement on the prior system. This salary model is tremendously complicated for no real reason. I don’t see how it improves anything now or in the future. It has made trading, free agency, and pretty much everything involving roster management so much harder for even serious fans to truly understand.
  21. Tough back to back days for MSU Hockey. They will still be really good next year but they were poised to put a juggernaut in front of Augustine.
  22. The same as they always do: Deny Blame Democrats Praise Their King
  23. The older Phil handled this much better than the brat from 20 years ago would’ve.
  24. Can you imagine Christian and Lewis on Ferrari and Toto and Max on Merc. What a crazy flip flop that would be. Also see the rumor of him buying out Alpine and running his own team with Flavio. That seems to make a lot more sense.
