They made enough defensive stops to win the game but they don’t run an offense. It’s just give it to Cade and let him improv. I hated JB’s rotation tonight. Not sure why Ausar only played 4 minutes in the 2nd half. Ivey played really well in the first half and was also hardly seen in the 2nd.

Get careless Caris out of there.

Holland getting a ton of minutes in the 4th. Ausar non-existent all 2nd half.

From one of his old assistants when he left a few weeks ago. @Motor City Sonics - This part surprised me. “He will beat your ass in 60s/70s/early 80s Classic Rock Trivia. Album, song title, what’s on the album cover, where the band originates, who the lead singer is, who the lead singer’s replacement was, who the band members are, all that and more — he’s a freckin’ STUD. I was in awe as I had the Aux and tried to stump him while we were out recruiting and he nailed all the songs and provided detailed information on the things I said”

Big if true. He’s the only race engineer that Max has ever had.

Week Seventeen: Detroit Lions (8-7) @ Minnesota Vikings (7-8)

Good news is that despite being told otherwise all season long, there is plenty of money available to acquire players this offseason. From Spotrac: POTENTIAL CAP CONVERSIONS QB Jared Goff’s cap number rises to $69.6M next season. A simple salary conversion (plus two void years) can open up a much needed $42.9M of space. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown’s 2026 salary is already fully guaranteed. Converting it to bonus (plus two void years) frees up $21.5M. DL Alim McNeill’s knee issues may have the Lions weary of moving money around too much (in order to preserve a cleaner out potential after 2026), but there’s over $18M of cap space to open up here if needed. OT Penei Sewell’s 2026 salary is fully guaranteed. A simple salary conversion can free up nearly $15M of space. CB D.J. Reed’s 2026 salary is fully guaranteed. A simple salary conversion can free up over $11M. -
Good point about the PE deal. I can definitely see him saying that he doesn’t want any part of that.

Best I can tell is Utah have long had a succession plan where former player and current assistant Morgan Scally takes over. As happens many times in sports and in business, either the guy in waiting or the administration became impatient that the 66 year old guy was staying too long. Sometimes the succession plan becomes more important and the actual business plan.

Exactly. This is almost the perfect hire but what happened at Utah? Everyone seemed to think that he was retiring. Why else would he leave there.

I’ve talked a ton of **** over the years on Ryan Poles. I’ve got to tip my hat. He traded a 4th for starting guard and pro bowler Joe Thuney while Brad traded 2 3rd round picks for rookie backup WR Isaac Teslaa. I think Ike is going to be a really nice player but we are probably a playoff team and playing for the division next week if we had Thuney instead. -

The offensive talent should put the Lions as the top choice of available OC’s. Zack Taylor, Mike McDaniel, Kevin Stefanski, Brian Daboll are all guys you don’t want as head coach but would make great play callers next season. -

I’m still on board with Dan Campbell. I trust that he will make changes and get this team back on track. That being said, he was ****ing terrible this year. Many reasons the team failed but he needs to take a solid share of the blame. -

Normally im making fun of your negativity in game threads but today I have to agree. Miserable job adapting to personnel and making adjustments in game -

I’m not sure Brosmer could start on a USFL team. Total failure by arguably the worst GM in the league having him as a project QB. Hendon Hooker is light years better -

No doubt but there comes a point where professionals have to compete better. You can’t get beat every single down. Their QB is so ****ing bad…this is so frustrating -

Down 6 entering the 4th quarter in an elimination game. Time to find out if Grit is just clever marketing or not. They have no business losing to Max Brosmer and Ty Chandler -

C’mon man! I get hurt for 6 weeks and everyone just forgets all about me. Those guys have nothing on me (and LeBron)
