  1. I am not so sure if I believe that he doesn’t have an agent. He made the comment in passing a few years ago and I don’t think anyone bothered to follow up on it or not. I know David Dunn represented him in the past. Either way, none of this makes any sense to me why UM won’t pay him the money. He was on a prove it deal and he proved it.
  2. It’s not up to him to ask for a raise. It’s up to UM to ensure that he is paid close to his market value. As long as he’s this far below his market, there will be these type of rumors and probably some very real overtures made by others. He is a different cat, that’s for sure. We both agree on that. I don’t think the actual dollars mean squat to him but I think the respect for the job he does and competitive nature between other coaches matters to him. The guy is a super competitor and tries to win everything. Forget the Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley contacts, you don’t think it gnaws at him that guys like Tucker and Fleck have one good season and don’t even win the B10 and get huge extensions and now make more than double what he does.
  3. If Harbaugh left now, the only decision would be Gattis or Hart. Not even sure that Hart would be in the mix.
  4. Harbaugh is one of the lowest paid coaches in the B10. I think he’s around 35th nationally. Instead of accusing the media maybe people should be asking where the contract extension is that he earned and should be getting? Not sure what the hold up is on this but it’s a big mistake by Warde Manuel if he lets Black Monday hit without a new deal for Harbaugh. Every big money booster was together last week in the stadium of the biggest booster. As for why, Jim is 58. Head coaches in the league are now trending younger and younger. If he does have any desire of giving the NFL another shot the opportunity may not come around like this when he’s in his 60’s.
  5. The league would go ballistic. The Raiders and Chargers would both get the largest fines in the history of the NFL and probably also lose draft picks.
  6. The Jags beating the Colts Is unlikely but possible. The bitter rivals Chargers and Raiders agreeing to tie is not.
  7. I don’t know the answer but I can see what both GB and the Lions saw in him. He looks comfortable in the pocket and doesn’t have happy feet. He’s got a good arm when he sets his feet. The problems start when he faces any kind of pressure and some of the poor decisions you see from a backup. The game hasn’t slowed down for him yet.
  8. I’d love to be a fly on the wall to hear Aaron Glenn’s answer when he gets asked about this game in all of those head coaching interviews that he’s going to get.
  9. Not a good effort today. Similar to how they played in the Bengals game.
  10. Actually, I read that he doesn’t believe in hamstrings or any of the commonly accepted skeletal structure that doctors want us to believe is our human anatomy.
  11. They were playing without 6 starters and then lost another when a guy broke his leg. I don’t see any reason why OSU won’t be a top ten team again next year. Nobody can come close to matching the offensive skill players they return.
  12. It will be interesting to see how UM manages the QB situation into next year. I can’t see the same deal playing out for another year and would be surprised if the backup didn’t hit the portal for a starting job. That’s how it works now in college football. QB management is hard stuff. That being said, I think it has to be McCarthy. He has much more potential and gives the offense more options. The offense should be loaded with no shortage of speed and playmakers. Sucks for McNamara after the great season but he can easily find a guaranteed starting job somewhere else if he doesn’t want to hang around UM in the event that JJ is a slow learner on how to slide and protect himself from brutal hits. If it turns out they go with Cade, I can’t see a way in our current climate where a 5* QB waits on the bench for 2 years before becoming a starter. I think that is a thing of the past.
  13. I felt the same. Good not great but I was entertained.
  14. Hopefully we will have less quarterback science in 2022.
  15. Probably a good idea to let McCarthy play the rest of the way. Could give a spark and also be enough to keep him from thinking about the portal.
  16. Cincinnati 30 Alabama 22 Bearcats shock the world and dominate in a game that’s not as close as the fInal score. Georgia 38 Michigan 19 Georgia stops the run. UM doesn’t. The freshman TE has a huge game off play action.
  17. Here’s my idea. 2 playoffs! The main 16 team playoff with P5 conference champs and the top nonP5 get automatic bids. The next 10 get selected and everybody is ranked by committee. That’s 15 total games for ESPN to televise to settle the National Chanpion. The next group goes into the NIT which is a little different. No auto bids but the committee selects the 16 best remaining teams and ranks the top 4 and then does a European soccer style random pick lottery to determine the brackets. That’s 15 more games for TV. The first round of each tourney could be at home campus sites or they could create something location based like a bowl. The CFP committee can assign sponsors and locations and cut out the slimy local middle men. That gives 30 quality games that will all be much better than the many crappy games we get now that players seem to care less and less about One change that has to happen and I think will start to happen very soon anyway, all games will have corporate sponsors and part of their money will go to short term NIL contracts ranging between $50 to as much as $250k that are given to select marquee players to tempt them to stay and play and not opt out. May not be enough to sway the top guys but it would definitely have many more opting in to play. More great meaningful football than ever in December and January
  18. Too many ideas to share but I think Dukes Mayo should have a tie in with every bowl where the winning coach gets a mayo bath.
  19. We don’t need this bowl system in order to have college football on TV during the holidays. There are much better ways to construct a postseason without being beholden to the shell games of these shady bowl executives.
  20. The bowls continue to exist mainly because it’s a great racket for the lucky few that are paid between $400k and $1M for the job of putting on a single football game a year. They also get free first class travel wherever they want under the guise of scouting out potential invitees. Most these lucky CEO’s already had big influence either in college sports, fundraising, or lobbying so they already had great skill at making themselves look important while doing very little.
  21. Testing facilities that had been no wait for many months and now seeing 4 and 5 hour waits.
  22. Trash can wins for the 2nd year in a row.
