The Lions correctly valued Gibbs much higher than probably any other team in the league and we have seen how it’s worked out.

Part of the philosophy they have talked about is using free agency to address current needs and the draft to add the best players that fit their system. I do believe that needs plays some role in how they set their board but probably far less than other teams.

We are all close to saying the same thing just in different ways. The question is not do the Lions draft for need or BPA. This isn’t up for debate. They draft the best player available on their draft board. They’ve said it countless times publicly over the past few years. There’s no reason not to believe them. The question should be how much does need factor in to the creation of their board? It’s definitely a factor and has some impact in their rankings as we’ve seen in the last few drafts.

Raymond was the best player for the Swedes. Made an impression on almost every shift. They had him on PP1 as well. Fun game to watch. Both goalies stepped up big time late in a tie game.
