  1. I think most front offices see parity in a big way and nobody is really out of anything at the moment. I think there will be multiple 8-8 teams fighting for playoff spots in the last week of the season. This is a weird season as the game appears to be morphing from a high octane passing league into something more balanced.
  2. The bats may have been very different had Skubal pitched. He gives the entire team extra confidence when he’s out there. We’ve seen that all season. They were going to need to win games without him either way so I can’t fault the team for valuing his health. I hope that we don’t find ourselves facing elimination in game 4. That would be really tough to not have him.
  3. Hard to figure whats more overrated on this Jets team, the current state of Aaron Rodgers game or the all-pro hype for Garrett Wilson.
  4. I still like going to the polling place and doing it in person. Has zero to do with any trust issues about my ballot. It’s just something I like to do on Election Day with my daughter that will hopefully rub off on her to understand the importance of voting.
  5. I really hate having to root for Aaron Rodgers.
  6. The #1 team in the country is on the ropes. Would be one of the biggest upsets in history. Bama were 23 point favorites. Vandy 40 Bama 28 5 minutes to go.
  7. Every week it’s something new from OSU’s Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams from Bama. It’s like a McGwire/Sosa battle going for best true Freshman WR ever. The 2027 NFL Draft is going to be epic.
  8. If I was the GM of the Padres chances are they never would’ve acquired Cease or Merrill and would’ve gone 52-110 this year.
  9. If Cleveland really wanted to send a message, they’d have Charles Nagy throw out the first pitch.
  10. Dog gets a red card and Bale gets to place the ball 3 feet from the hole.
  11. The 6th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery goes to:
  12. RIP Greg Landry. Although I usually refer to Gary Danielson as thr first childhood QB that I remember, it really was Landry. He was not a very good QB on some not very good teams.
  13. On the subject of Travis Fryman, he’s throwing out the first ball today for Cleveland. Had a great career here during some very lean years and has been a coach in the Cleveland system for many years after ending his career with the Tribe.
  14. Hoffa guy’s speech about shutting down the country made for a great sound bite but he’s just the East Coast. All of the West Coast ports are a different union and operating like normal. Our supply chain may have slowed a bit but it was never grinding to halt.
  15. Maybe his nickname should’ve been Daniel’s instead of Soup. All jokes aside, I hope he can get himself right. He’s a native Michigander and I’ll never forget him backstopping that 2010 US team that beat Canada to win the World Juniors .
  16. That’s what my Uncle Ted thought too. He came over from Russia and became one of the top money players in NYC. He even had his own little underground poker room. Everything was great until the day some hot shot law school kid came in cleaned him out. We’ve never heard from him again. Every 10 years or so I hear a rumor that maybe he’s coming back but it never actually materializes.
  17. I can’t wait to see the post-election revisions of these numbers on the December release. I’m guessing they will get revised down by at least 120,000.
  18. I don’t know where they got these odds but the best I can find is +1200
  19. He knows his arm well. He pitches on the side every week between starts. Pitching on one day less rest happens often for pitchers in the playoffs so it’s not a super rare thing. A must win game 4 is more valuable since there is no game 5 without it. My point is it would be a shame to lose in 4 games and only pitch Skubal once because you were saving him for a game that never happened.
  20. The more I think about it maybe the best move is to let Tarik decide. Does he want to stay on normal rest or does he want the ball in Game 1. Let him make the call. He knows better than anyone if short rest would make any difference in this situation.
  21. It’s the Beatles vs. Rolling Stones Always surprising that Stones were the rich kids and the well groomed kids in suits from Liverpool were working class.
  22. I have zero fears of winning non-Skubal games. I have no trepidation about the bully. He’s such a weapon that I think it’s smart to maximize it as much as possible in a short series. I don’t want to even mess around with the chance of getting down and not having him as an option if our back are against the wall.
  23. You are teaching a great lesson for kids to learn about working to save up for things they want. Many a rock band started with members selling weed to their classmates to scrape up enough money for gear.
