20234-24 14-68. Now what? (The 2024 Offseason thread)

Maybe all that Gores ass kissing resulted in a lucrative position somewhere with Platinum Equity. -

Sherrone just announced that Orji will get the start. This is 100% the correct move but why announce it now instead of showing up on Saturday and making the change. He did Lincoln Riley a solid. -

There are some happy gamblers out there who took USC +8.5 prior to the season and now see the line at Michigan +6. That’s a huge middling opportunity. -

Week 3 NFL General Discussion: At least the Bears lost.

That Bears OL looked tragic last night. Fields must be laughing saying see it wasn’t just me. Caleb is not making it the season getting hit and hurried as much as he did last night. -
Week Two: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)

Agree. Not a great day for Goff. Out of sync is exactly right. He was uncomfortable and a step late all day. Very unusual. If he takes a sack in the 4th, instead of trying an out of character Superman throw, we kick a FG instead of a pick and probably win. Not a great day for Ben or Dan. Ben is struggling with the versatility and the many weapons on this offense. He didn’t adjust to TB and what they were doing. I was impressed with TB defense. Reminded me a lot of the Lions last year doing it with young guys that aren’t household names yet. Todd Bowles is underrated as a defensive guru. Not a great day for the OL. Too much pressure on Goff and didn’t keep a good pocket very often. They were the least to blame of the problem groups but they still need to be better. Not a great day for the refs. They missed a bunch of calls especially in the first half. It’s part of the game and not why they lost but they missed multiple PI calls and yet called a really soft on on Arnold on the first drive. It was a good day for the defense. They played very well against a really good offense with weapons. Keeping the total yardage to 216 with 2 picks and 2-10 on 3rd down should have been good enough to win. Hutch has taken his game to another level and it’s awesome to watch. Not going to panic yet but next week will tell if we have real problems with the offense or not. Hopefully, Amon-Ra is not injured. -

Nothing’s shocking anymore. There’s no new tale to tell with people these days.

You should have a day where you dress up as Perry Ferrell. He’s apparently been a drunken mess all throughout this tour.

Great work. Let’s do it again tomorrow

Michigan Football 2024 aka The Year Michigan has to Defend a Natty

Watch the show. Thats not even close to what happened. They broke the rules but I don’t think it should be a penalty. It’s just gathering data from video. The value isn’t in the data, it’s the systems he created to decipher it and none of that is against the rules. -

I also watched the Netflix Stalions show and left actually feeling bad for the kid. He’s not a clown like he’s been made out to be in the media for the past year. He’s really smart, detailed, and driven. He was successfully living out the plan that he made a child to become a football coach at Michigan. He was hyper focused on making it happen and he did it. There’s not a doubt in my mind that he was on the path to become a head coach someday and maybe a really good one. That’s never going to happen for him now. The biggest takeaway for me was that even though everyone stole signs, nobody else had Conor Stalions. He was doing things at a level so far above the low level staffers at other places. He’s got a brilliant mind mixed with a crazy level of motivation. He devoted way way too much of his time to the singular effort of deciphering signs. He came up with ingenious methods of charting them and then quickly identifying them during the game. What he was doing relied on gathering as much data as possible to figure out the different sign combinations and he couldn’t get all of that just on TV and coaching video. The illegal in-person scouting really was a huge advantage for him. -

The biggest problem was the LB’s were horrendous. They were out of position to create huge running lanes and they missed tackles when they were in the right place. Barham has the physical tools of an NFL player but he’s got a long way to go as a player. Hausmann is just pretty average and don’t know what his upside is going forward. The other massive problem was the corner opposite of Johnson got abused. He’s young so maybe he needs more reps but he better figure it out quick because teams are going to come at him early and often. Both Grant and Graham had off games against a really good line. That can happen but I’d be shocked if both don’t rebound and play to expectations. Just having these two show up at their level will have a big impact to the overall defense. -

I’m assuming he’ll be back in a month. It’s the NFL and he’s still the Dolphins best option to win games. Both sides will do what it takes to get him cleared.

I didn’t say Musk wasn’t a con man. He has a resume of building companies and taking substantive products to market. Trump has nothing of the sort. Starring in a reality show created by someone else is all that’s ever really done that didn’t go bankrupt.

Elon has created things of value and substance. Tesla and Space-X both make revolutionary products. Trump has faked everything.

People argue about the greatest of all time in sports, music, or politics. There’s no debate over the GOAT of Con Men. Trump is the greatest there ever was and the greatest there ever will be.
