I think he has some bruised ribs. He took a shot and was slow to get up early in the game. Then that was was another body blow. -
At least the last 2 years against this team I cant disagree with you. They seem to know exactly how to work him and then pounce.

Seriously? You are honestly blaming the coordinator here…… Unreal. -

I will not blame coaches for decisions that are made by players on the field. -

One of the best in the league but that was a terrible decision. -
I would take McCarthy as a back up to Goff to learn from in a heartbeat. He has great leadership skills and fire to be good. He also is athletic and has very good arm strength. I think he needs a mentor for a few years to hone his throwing mechanics from an accuracy standpoint and decision making.

And 12 at 1-1…..is it that weird as it seems like that would be pretty normal?

Week Two: Chicago Bears (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (0-1)

This defensive line is terrible so far this year. Don’t stop the run or get to the passer well. -
Pretty sure you can just make them redo the kick. The only play was to kick it out the back. The kicker tried and feel short. The big problem was Williams not getting in on his run and also missing a wide open receiver.

Week One: Detroit Lions (0-0) @ Green Bay Packers (0-0)

Honestly I was thinking it during the preseason but gave the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt. However in light of this game I firmly believe it was a dumb mistake to not have the 3 IOL playing in the preseason. Other places as well but this one really sticks out. I know they talk about how with the joint practices they can get good looks while lowering the risk of injury but I just don’t agree. They looked average/bad the first couple weeks last season as well. Also how did Miami and Houston look this week. Did we really get that good of quality practices in? -

Sure that’s is always a factor. The first picture all 4 receivers are on the same level. Not typically a good concept if you are trying to stress a defense. 2nd picture it’s hard to tell it looks like 3 are bunch together so could have been a wrong route or also timing of the play not allowing for separation yet that just hasn’t happened yet in the route pattern. I believe that Greenbay had a great game plan of stopping the run and making Goff go to his check down quickly causing the short throws and they executed it by tackling well. -

Don’t forget that we didn’t execute the all important two for one to end and start the half. -

A loss is a loss. With a team as talented as the Lions should be, how bad they look and the score doesn’t really matter to me. The stars didn’t forget how to play football they will get it fixed just a matter of how quickly. -

Ok you’ve lost me here. This is not a bad team. Do they need to improve and improve quickly, absolutely. Is losing to a highly likely playoff team on the road in game one mean it’s over, absolutely not. -

I’ll point out some of what I mean and it could be that I got worn out watching Michigan do the same. I saw very little attacking the middle routes or deep. Lots of sideline to sideline plays not allowing our speed to have much of an impact. Even in the run game I saw mostly attacking between the tackles and rarely running outside. -

I will say that normally I think TP has idiotic takes and there are still some of those happening. However at least offensively I’ve seen a pretty poorly called and executed game. So I will agree with him today that these coaches today did not have this team prepared and ready. -

Looks like no one played in the preseason which of course they didn't. They will get there legs underneath them but will it be in enough time? -
That’s true. I still think McKinstry should have over ruled and taken that ball. That is just a terrible pairing on the left side.
-
Shelled? a bunch of ground ball singles hit where the fielders aren't? I would call that borderline bad luck.
-
It would be nice to bring Torres back but he’s earned a long term sizable contract with his play this year. I don’t think the Tigers will meet that price. I see 2nd next year as Lee/Jung/McKinstry/Ibanez. Then potentially McGonigle working into there or SS before then end of the year and even possible from the start. That’s why I think Jung is a trade candidate.
-
Oh I agree but even if he falls back to last year that’s still a productive player that plays pretty decent defense and that still outperforms Jung from what we’ve seen so far. I’m just. It seeing a spot for Jung in this team right now.
-
Jung is trade bait or a bench bat if he can figure it out at the MLB level. He’ll also need to make himself more valuable defensively by playing multiple positions. If he can play 2nd, 3rd and 1B then that’s an ok bench piece if he hits. If I had to guess I really don’t see his long term fit with the tigers. I like Lee better from the right side than Jung currently for that role from the left as we already have Keith, McKinstry and McGonigle hitting lefty.
-
Agreed. I would go a bit further and not expect him until at the earliest end of next season. That can change but so for the front office seems to like mid season promotions and then start the next season at that location as well. So that same trajectory would put him Toledo/Detroit in the second half of the 26 season. That goes for Clark as well.
