Agree with this approach. No reason to commit beyond one more season. Since it was made clear he was coming for one season to establish himself, I wonder if there was a gentleman’s agreement that the Tigers would not put a QO on him?

I don’t see that happening, nor do I think they should. He was a nice bridge and hedge in case Tork couldn’t hit. He strikes me as someone who could quickly decline and his unwillingness (alleged) to play anywhere but 2B does not fit with how Hinch likes to utilize his roster.

I think Lee and Jung are in the mix at 2B next season.

If he can stick at SS, he will be a generational player. And if he can’t, he’ll still be. We’re going to see him next season

LLM bringing the goods, as always. Graham and Peck both intrigue me at WM. Probably no room to move them up to Erie, but looking forward to seeing how they progress.

I find the local radio personalities pander to the lowest common denominator by leaning into conspiracy narratives like the Tigers are cheap (false), Harris is incompetent (false) and Tenacious D is smokin’ hot (that one may actually be true). Riger, Valenti, Ryan, etc…are less informed on the Tigers than almost anyone here. Listening to crazy callers all day probably doesn’t help.

I’d blame Vest’s recent struggles on either a slump, something mechanics-related or injury. I doubt it has anything to do with which inning he is pitching in.

Through 2 innings, Skubal has thrown 26 pitches and has 6 K’s!
