  1. He has been forgotten. Sort of like the second “d” in his last name.
  2. I just remember JD choking up when he was traded.
  3. Brieske, Manning, Kreidler and Malloy being demoted gives me some encouragement that this organization is on the right path.
  4. My childhood baseball movie was the original Bad News Bears movie(s). And I say this with a healthy dose of pride.
  5. We have seen some monster offensive seasons in this ballpark. Multiple MVP’s, batting crowns, HR titles. In addition to Miggy’s overall output, we saw incredible performances by Magglio and Granderson (2007), and the Martinez brothers (Victor and JD). Maybe park performance has been influenced by bad offensive teams since 2015?
  6. Would an evaluator really consult with the local beat writers? If so, what did Kieran have to say about Baddoo? I do agree that a trade might occur—I would imagine that Faedo or Wentz could command a decent position prospect.
  7. I think he gets more than this season—technically still a rook.
  8. I like your standings, but I’ll flip Minny and Detroit in the AL Central.
  9. I’m glad we grabbed Urshela—much easier to move/jettison if Jung is pushing this season, which I suspect he will. Chapman would have blocked him.
  10. And, of course, Brieske and Faedo have pitched better.
  11. Does anyone who has purchased MLB TV know if the radio broadcasts are included, or have to be purchased separately? Recently took a hybrid job in the Chicago burbs and want to be able to get the Tigers on the tee-vee and radio.
  12. I didn’t see this coming—Hope Manning doesn’t sour like Turnbull did last season.
  13. Can Hiura opt out? Would really like to see him rake in Toledo and serve as Tork insurance.
  14. His head is still smaller than Bonds’
  15. Ryan Kreidler hits more HR’s than Javy Baez
  16. Agree. I also thought Vest was being considered a shoo-in (though I don’t agree with this).
  17. Who did we sign today on another team friendly deal?
  18. I think there are parallels to the 2006 WS rotation. Skubal - Verlander Maeda - Rogers Flaherty - Robertson Mannjng - Bonderman Unfortunately, it falls apart when you try and compare the position players.
  19. Giants figured out how to get a free agent to sign with them. Wait until they have no other options with a week left before the season starts.
  20. Not sure the value of all of the Baez bashing, unless it’s therapeutic for everyone. He is what he is—I think he’s trying, just has lost his ability to hit. Can’t blame him for accepting a guaranteed paycheck. And it’s not as if this front office signed him, so can’t rag on them. I cope/rationalize that this is a sunk cost. I doubt he makes it to the end of his contract, and maybe doesn’t even get through this year. I’m OK with that outcome. I think Harris/Hinch will cut bait, If necessary. Of course, with no clear heir apparent, it is everyone’s best interest that he can become serviceable.
  21. Locked On was much better with Chris C. Not a fan of the new guy.
  22. I give Harris credit that he didn’t let his ego get in the way and blow up/move the assets that Avila accumulated through the draft (at least not yet). For better or worse, this is Avila’s team and likely will be for the next season or two. Hard to separate the innate talent that was drafted from the skills development each has subsequently acquired.
  23. Agree. Once they get into the baseball talk, it’s mostly enjoyable. The other Pods each have a wink link that is hard to look past.
  24. Respectfully, you’re just listing them. Each is pretty flawed, but I suppose if you’re desperate for Tigers info, they could suffice. I listen to Cody, but find myself fast forwarding the first 5 minutes or so and dropping with about 10 minutes left to avoid the personal banter.
