  1. Imagine if Baez and Schoop are able to hit?
  2. Tork on pace for a 32 HR, 130 RBI season.
  3. Now doesn’t everyone feel stupid?
  4. Who does he think he is, Aurelio Lopez?
  5. Only 8 home games and the NFL is wildly more popular than MLB.
  6. But isn’t 65K the size of a typical NFL stadium? I thought the 80K at the Silverdome wasn’t typical.
  7. I agree with this. Unfortunate timing that we started with a very good TB team and now have to go to Houston. We’re ride or die fans—can you imagine the impact this start will have on the casual fan base? Coupled with the bumpy economy and this could be an awful season for game attendance and TV ratings.
  8. Any Miggy appeal for impacting attendance will be recognized on his special day and the last home game of the season, assuming they are different. Otherwise, his appeal will be limited, IMO. And he’s my AAT.
  9. The flawed approach that the team took 7 years ago just didn’t work. If free agency is a crapshoot, the draft is even more so. Tanking was stupid then and still is. It’s going to be interesting to see how Harris digs out of this and how long it will take. Let’s hope he is the right guy to get it done.
  10. The difference is that Mike genuinely cared about the team and fans. He was emotionally invested. And we were spoiled by it. VMart gets hurt in an offseason training accident? Go sign Prince Fielder to replace him. While his impulsiveness and willingness to build a winning team led to some regrettable decisions, he was willing to invest to maintain a winner. Chris, however, is running it like a business with what appears to be very little emotional attachment. I’m more critical of his blind loyalty to Avila than his willingness to spend, which I think has been unfairly characterized.
  11. Where analytics have failed—people trying to distract by identifying a silver lining out of exit velo, hard hit rate, BABIP, etc…. All great, but at the end of the day it’s about results.
  12. C’mon, Javy. Make me like you.
  13. The team is completely out of sorts in almost every phase. Let’s hope it’s just a team slump they can snap out of.
  14. anyone know how to delete a post?
  15. This is the Tigers inning, folks—count on it.
  16. Could be a frequent refrain this season.
  17. I can’t tell if Springs is really that good, but he has the Tigers hitting guessing. Lots of swinging strikes out of the zone and called strikes down the middle. Bad combo.
  18. In fairness, the first strike was really a ball. However, he was fooled on the next two pitches.
  19. Realize it’s a judgment call, but I think it’s the prevailing attitude from fans. The crazy swings and erratic throws might contribute to it.
  20. A different era for sure. Miss manager’s losing their shit.
  21. I believe in Holmes and Campbell. They are much smarter and have access to way more information--they have earned my unconditional trust in this draft.
  22. it's really hard to gauge how good this team is or how enjoyable this season will be, especially after two games against a good team. but I can't fault fans for being cynical, especially after the expectations everyone had going into last season only to experience the train wreck which was the 2022 season (by far, the least enjoyable season in my lifetime). we really did very little to improve the offense--management's hands were tied to some degree, but it seems like we are counting on big improvements and turnarounds, which could happen. The team is lacking in likable identities--I think Greene and Tork can be those guys, but they have to achieve some success for that to happen. Miggy is a shell of himself and both Baez and Schoop are extremely unlikable. Everyone else is kind of meh.
