  1. The issue will be how patient the Tigers will be. Correa signing makes sense—position of a need, fits within our payroll, won’t cost a draft pick and seems to align with Harris’ player philosophy.
  2. Yeah, I think he might be done
  3. I’ll be sick if the Guardians make the WS.
  4. He held his own in limited time in the bigs. Given our injury issues, he’s gotta be in the conversation to be in our rotation next April.
  5. Is the greater risk his attitude/teammate lack of respect or that his performance might have been enhanced?
  6. Wish there was a way that both the Yankees and Guardians could somehow lose.
  7. anyone concerned that Harris' Giants went from the best record in MLB in 2021, to a .500 team this season, despite signing free agents (Rodon and Pederson)?
  8. Agree. Everyone has strong opinions of who should be taken off of the 40-man, rightfully so. However as easy as it will be to cut players, it will be equally difficult to replace them with playoff-caliber talent. When I get excited or optimistic about guys like Keith, Jung, Perez and lil' Meadows, I'm reminded about how much our more heralded and sure-thing prospects Tork and Greene struggled--with little evidence that they will come close to their potential. This will be a 3-year process, at least. And there is little evidence that Harris will be the guy--I'm optimistic, but there is a bit of blind faith required. At least he was part of two organizations that saw success, and hopefully his contributions were significant. It will be interesting if he takes a patient approach, similar to Avila, or makes moves that might be inconsistent with how he would normally approach building a roster by making a bigger splash into free agency, which is his only avenue to improve the major league team in 2023-24.
  9. Hoping we bring Jonah Hill into the new front office.
  10. RIP, Bruce Sutter. He was 69 years old.
  11. They’ll go with youth there. Even they can’t afford to pay $30M at each position. As it is, they will struggle to get Judge signed.
  12. Correa will be a Tiger. Write it down.
  13. Yes, it could have been a very different outcome over the last 7 seasons if he and Mr I don’t have their falling out.
  14. Agree—just going to get exposed more, unless he finds some plate discipline like Parker seems to have.
  15. Geez, that’s troubling. Could become a re-do, similar to what Holmes is attempting with the Lions.
  16. Agree. This guy is unlikely to see any significant playing time and not worthy of this much speculation. He will only be notable as the answer to a future trivia question—who was Harris’ first acquisition?
  17. The guy we’re trying to dump? If Fetter’s reputation is as good as we think, that won’t enhance his trade value. Next year won’t be a rebuild or “tank” but will be equally painful to enjoy as we start to dig out of the sinkhole this season created.
  18. I think I want to see a Yankees v Dodgers WS. 1981, redux
  19. Kinda disrespected him, as it’s Colt Keith. Just sayin’
  20. Is the Panda playing for Seattle?
  21. who? maybe Lange and Jiminez, though I suspect the latter was shopped at the deadline. And we're not getting a potential lineup piece (I don't think) for either guy. I hate to be all Debbie Downer, but this is similar to what Dombrowski inherited and he made his famous, "you try and trade them" remark. The only guys that I think we have on our 40-man roster with good trade value are maybe Greene and Tork, and their value is lower than it should be, not to mention those are the types of players we would want to acquire in any deal. I really think the rest of the roster is going to get you a Travis Demeritte type of return. We're not going to be trading our way out of this problem--free agency is the only viable route to make any improvements in 2023.
  22. Trades? Do we have tradable assets that I'm not aware of?
  23. What about Fetter? Has his pitching philosophy contributed to all of the injuries? I’m not smart enough to know, and not a conspiracy theorist, but Turnbull, Mize, Skubal, Manning, Brieske and Funkhouser have all sustained arm-related injuries. Bad luck? Sign of the times? Or something else? Cody Stavenhagen needs to get to the bottom of this.
  24. He’s gonna get hurt playing for Venezuela anyway, so this is all moot.
