Depends. If they rehab this season and then determine he does in fact need surgery, he could miss next year, as well. And then we hope there is nothing wrong with his wing through all of this. I’m not counting on anything from him moving forward—any contribution will be a pleasant surprise.

Can’t they just do his obligatory TJ surgery at the same time? Sort of the opposite of Mize, who started with TJ and decided to get his back fixed.

Mets are all-in this season. Will be interesting to see how they replace him. Wish we had a closer we could send them—their desperation would make them a great trade partner.

Who knows if any of these free agents want to come to Detroit? We’re definitely more relevant now, if not a darling, but other considerations factor in. Like where players want to live. Or more importantly, how their significant others perceive Detroit vs other markets. The “free” in free agency gives them the latitude to factor in these considerations. as for Anzalone? I trust Holmes and Campbell.

The point I was trying to make is that there won’t be a 4th outfielder. 4 outfielders? Sure, but they are all going to play a ton, including Austin likely getting AB’s at DH, too.

We don’t have a starting LF—any one of Baddoo, Carpenter or Parker Meadows will get significant playing time, along with Vierling. If he’s ready, he’ll play.

I think the Matt Wisler experiment will soon be over.

A bunch of old guys hanging out on the internet showing unconditional support for a 25-year old baseball player. It’s ridiculous and a complete waste of time. Oh, and I pick Miggy. Suck on that, haters.

Parker has more seasoning and is more accomplished than Baddoo was when he originally made the team, though the circumstances were different. I don’t think it’s a stretch to start him in Detroit, but I’m OK with Carpenter getting that spot. Baddoo is a distant 3rd in the competition.
