  1. He was barely in AAA for the Tigers (149 AB's). The majority of those AB's came after he left the organization. His OBP at WM was .394 and .352 at Erie. That's where my "fandom" ended. but don't let the facts get in the way of a condescending post.
  2. Really liked him as a prospect with the Tigers. Figured he was out of baseball. Good for him.
  3. F Michigan agree, though, that this town would go nuts if the Lions ever made it to a Super Bowl.
  4. Thank you for posting these—much appreciated!
  5. Amy Winehouse “Rehab”
  6. Link to 5:15 press conference?
  7. I hear Joel Zumaya is in the running.
  8. #poutine #americas’hat #hoser #eh?
  9. I suspected this after the Whitaker ceremony, when Al and Chris sat on their hands to avoid getting booed mercilessly. Thought it would come after the season, though.
  10. If we think AJ is a flawed manager, I don’t want to fix it by moving him to the front office. That’s classic corporate America. I’m in the camp of going external for a GM and let that individual determine who is the best manager. After watching the Whitaker ceremony, and Avila and Ilitch’s muted roles, I’m feeling better that a change is coming. They aren’t oblivious to what fan sentiment is—getting rid of Avila allows Ilitch to start to restore his public persona, if that matters to him. If you’ll recall, Mike was a pariah for a while, but he was able to turn that around, starting with bringing Dombrowski in and opening up his wallet. Of course, winning ultimately fixes everything.
  11. Any precedent for this? Not sure how managerial skills transfer.
  12. As long as we can eventually flip Tork for Al Cowens, I'm good.
  13. I wonder if they will do the opposite of what they've done with a lot of our younger pitchers and try and get him as many innings as possible, prepping for the 2023 season? He's missed a lot of time this year.
  14. Of all of our minor league positions players, I'm most bullish about Wenceel, Keith and Crouch. I like the guys who don't K a ton, which is unusual, especially in our organization. Nice to see Carpenter improve his K rate at Toledo. We saw the same with Kreidler last year when he was promoted. Pacheco made big strides in Lakeland (vs. his debut last season). I like him a lot, too. I don't think he'll hit for as high of an average as Castellanos has mustered at times, but I think he'll have as good power (if not better) and be a plus defender.
  15. keep the audio off. Dan Hasty's earnestness is a bit much. Like biting into a sugar cube. Feel guilty saying it, because I'm sure he's genuinely a nice guy, but I can't listen to his Podcast anymore, which sucks because it's the only one that interviews actual Tigers minor leaguers.
  16. When it comes to Baddoo, we’ll always have 2021. And humiliating poor Nathan.
  17. Someone else is probably better equipped to answer this, but without there being a Rule 5 draft last year, teams have basically two years worth of players that have to be protected on 40 man rosters, or risk losing them. Not sure if Carpenter is in that boat with us, but if he’s not, it may be a reason not to put call him up this season. Or, perhaps they want to maximize his trade value this offseason and fear he might get exposed against ML pitching. Or, the front office is inept.
  18. With only a 6 run lead? That’s crazy.
  19. Deivi was already a statue at SS.
  20. I would think Dingler to Toledo and Crouch to Erie promotions are imminent.
  21. Classic Leyland quote, talking about Miggy eventually getting his number retired: “My Mom could have done a good job managing those guys.”
  22. Nice starts by ERod (Lakeland rehab) and Bergner (Toledo). Olson continues to struggle at Erie.
  23. Did Shep just kick Lou out of the booth? So much for the tears shed earlier.
