  1. too lazy to look, but if Candelario's splits hitting LH were not great, Harris has gone on record as saying he wants to find a LH bat for our infield. If you believe that Tork, Schoop and Baez are relatively set, then 3B is where you address that. Of course, I think Schoop could easily slide over to 3B. I believe he's played there before, has a very strong and acccurate arm and with the new rule outlawing the shift, his mobility (or lack of) might be better suited at 3B. Of course, he could also become a super-sub, too.
  2. Did the entire lineup have a bum wrist? Everyone fell off last season, except for Harold. Still hard to understand/explain.
  3. Why risk cutting him if you really want him back? To save a couple of million $? I don’t understand that, unless they didn’t see him as their clear-cut 3B upon returning.
  4. don't forget Greene. stockpiling prospects was not a bad strategy, but we should have dealt some of them at their peak for proven players.
  5. So, you’re saying we’ve never been hurt by this.
  6. We might still get our QB, just not how we expected.
  7. How we feeling? 11-6 is inevitable <ducks> Will be funny if the Rams draft pick ends up being better than our own.
  8. Baez’ swing is what I expect mine would look like if I played in MLB.
  9. I respectfully disagree. There were zero surprises for me. And I’ve been underwhelmed with his dumpster diving, including the OF he grabbed yesterday. I’m not concerned—as I outlined, nothing so far has been significant. Now that the roster has been settled, we can start to evaluate moving forward.
  10. All he’s done is clear some spots and pick up a few lottery tickets. The cuts were almost administrative—they were very obvious. Not excited about any of the minor league acquisitions he’s made. I agree he is just getting started, but I can’t get excited or give him credit for anything yet—moving forward is where things should get interesting.
  11. Gonna miss the Castro Bros. They were rascals. The 40-man is depressing:
  12. All would be 1-2 year stopgaps, along with Candy. I think I’d prefer Longoria or Turner for one season—they’d be more interesting and hopefully could instill a sense of winning with our younger guys.
  13. I don’t disagree, especially with your second point. Most guys have a track record—the unknowns are Tork, Greene and Rogers. It’s not inconceivable that this lineup could have a big turnaround with better coaching.
  14. Might be our only option, but we’ll largely end up with the same lineup next season, with potential upgrades at C and one of the corner OF spots. We’d basically be betting on improvements from everyone who underperformed.
  15. can we all agree to never use the term "sexy" here, unless it is being used in reference to a player's wife or girlfriend? thanks in advance.
  16. anyone wonder if Scott Harris is thinking, "what in the hell did I just get myself into"? Or is he just a masochist?
  17. I'm more concerned with who is going to pitch the garbage innings if we get rid of both Harold and Kody.
  18. this should be a rich (relative, I know) crop of Rule 5 players given that the draft didn't happen last year, so this is essentially two years worth of potential players in the pool.
  19. only Tiger fans would care about this. Our next fascination?: Selections and appetizer recipes for everyone's Rule 5 party.
  20. Agree. His last name is literally a typo—really sloppy.
  21. I only listed those guys as examples. I agree that there are others more deserving of being cut, if necessary. But if pressed, Willi and Tyler are easily expendable. And please don’t start a response with “Ummm.” Comes off incredibly condescending (and we had made so much progress together lately).
  22. factoring in to these decisions around Tyler, Willi, Harold, etc... is less about their contributions, but instead that they are taking up a 40 man roster spot, making other prospects vulnerable in the Rule 5. Ultimately, we might end up picking up players of their ilk later on, but we should not put any prospects at risk for players who are easily replaceable.
  23. I think you get your wish—I believe players need to be added to the 40 man today, which might impact the Castro Bros and others. Will be interested in what they do with Tyler Alexander—he must be on the bubble.
  24. Age 28. 1,200 career AB’s. Wouldn’t take a walk. Adventures in the OF. 6’ 5” with no power. Time to move on.
