  1. Toledo is a no-brainer. Robson is getting steady AB’s. Time to flip those two.
  2. That’s a band I can get behind.
  3. Dickerson is the man and deserves to be mentioned alongside Ernie and Paul. Jim Price is something else, though. College kids have made a drinking game out of listening to him—take a shot every time he says “yellow hammer”
  4. Can’t we listen to the radio and still bitch about the TV announcers? What are the rules around here?
  5. The worst combination is Shep and Morris. Unwatchable.
  6. He just needs some Fettering—I’d sign him for the minimum once he clears waivers.
  7. If Peralta was stretched out, I’d like to see Brieske get sent down to Toledo after this game. He needs to work on some things, which is probably easier against AAA hitters. I still like his potential, which I think will be somewhere between Brian Moehler and Doug Fister. Let’s hope it’s closer to the latter. I suspect he goes down if/when Tyler Alexander or Michael Pineda are ready.
  8. I’d like to see Carpenter and Robson switch places. Nothing more to do in Erie so let’s see how he does against more experienced pitching.
  9. They are controlled for many more years.
  10. He had a short outing a couple of days ago—that’s when he might have noticed it. There’s no evidence that he has tried to pitch since.
  11. why are we even considering that either Mize or Manning might be a bust? players get injured and often come back and can be productive. Even if either requires a significant surgery, it's not a death sentence for their career. Sure, it would be a setback and defer their contributions, but until we learn that they can't be productive contributors to a winning team, I'd encourage some healthy cautious optimism. Meadows is the one I'm concerned with--I really hope whatever he's going through is temporary. I was excited about adding him to the roster for at least the next couple of seasons.
  12. Nice AB, Tork (ignore the broadcast commentary).
  13. Does the lottery go into effect next season, as we are projected to finish with a top 3 pick? Would be just our luck to fall in the draft order.
  14. That’s the problem—we’ve endured his prolonged slump. Now I want to benefit when he starts raking again. Your point is valid, though, if you get tempted by another team near the deadline. It didn’t happen last season.
  15. No, we gave up on him because he was blocked and had younger guys in the lower minors at his position. But most importantly, we were able to upgrade our OF and lineup in Meadows.
  16. Yep. Olsen is another that I omitted.
  17. Some promising individual performances in the minors so far—Clemens,Wenceel, Sequeira, Keith, Pacheco, Carpenter, Wilmer, Dylan Smith, Madden, and even Jobe has been good for a young guy that the Tigers seem to be bringing along slowly.
  18. I agree—he’ll be fine.
  19. It was a joke, son.
  20. Well, it is a fan board to discuss all things Tigers. What are the things that are off limits that we should avoid here?
  21. Monster K rates? 28% last year, 23% so far this year. Not bad, especially for someone with power.
  22. You’re missing the silver lining—we’ll save on having to pay him any performance bonuses.
  23. I like the SS they signed—was only 23 last year and put up monster numbers in the minors. Not so much this year, but solid—definitely worth a look.
