  1. Would be nice to draft a hitter that doesn’t have “swing and miss” issues. How about someone who walks as much as they K (or close)?
  2. I don’t care who we draft really. Everything sucks (Tigers-related—no reason to check in on me).
  3. Agree we didn’t give anything up, but doesn’t excuse the fact that he has sucked. We could have pursued someone else that might have been a better contributor.
  4. Don’t get me started on Jermaine Clark and Travis Chapman. Thought we had solved our infield woes with both.
  5. I bought into the Barnhart hype. Foolish me.
  6. Remember that Law hates us. I’d be shocked if we made that pick.
  7. Perez is money. Might have something there.
  8. Pick your poison. Anyways, “what’s going on in the minors?”
  9. good question. certainly could present some complications if out of the country. I wonder at what point the Tigers would void his contract, if they are able? Certainly would not put them in a very good light, but everyone already thinks the front office is inept, so probably would not do much more damage. In reality, this season is sunk, so getting him back this year doesn't really matter much, except that we have a lot of starters out and could have used someone eating some innings. If he's back and ready to go in 2023, that would be wonderful. btw, anyone read the Ken Rosenthal piece in the Athletic today? Took the Tiger's front office to task--not a good look for Al.
  10. I haven’t seen that. For me, the only comparison is that they were both long term deals that didn’t/haven’t panned out (yet for ERod). Zimmerman was a much riskier signing. Hopefully ERod returns and his personal situation doesn’t become a distraction for him when he does. I would not be surprised to see him sit out the balance of this season.
  11. When it’s all said and done, I think we’ll be happier with Meadows instead of Paredes. And I was president of Isaac’s fan club.
  12. I think he’s in the mix as Jake Rogers backup next year.
  13. I think Policelli is the heir apparent to Haase, who I suspect will not be a Tiger beyond this year.
  14. What all three have in common are a bunch of injuries that have probably stunted their development.
  15. I hope I’m proven wrong, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in Akko being a major contributor. He seems very raw and undisciplined in all aspects of his game. He is young and relatively inexperienced (rushed to the majors last year), but for me, anything we get from him is a plus. I have him behind Cameron and Hill.
  16. Like Jordan Zimmerman or Eduardo Rodriguez?
  17. Done deal. Would imagine for cash considerations. Can’t see anything of value coming back.
  18. 2nd time for him this season. I believe he could elect to be a free agent. He didn’t last time. What is the rotation now? Skubal, Faedo, Brieske, Alexander and Garcia?
  19. My issue with him is 12th seems too high. His value is in that he is one of the top starters still standing. Without all of the other pitcher injuries, he would be pushed down the draft boards.
  20. When should a RH pitcher be drafted?
  21. No Perez? Still only 22 and has added power.
  22. I like the concept, and think a few have been well executed. I’d like to see the Tigers lean into Motown and incorporate “Hitsville”, though this current roster is not worthy of that moniker.
  23. I don’t get that concern. Would he be healthier if he went to college for a few seasons and then drafted? Instead, he has the benefit of better coaching and concern for his arm health. If your concern is not health related, but lack of a track record pitching against college hitters, that I understand. I just wouldn’t read too much into his performance so far. Manning had some bumps along the way and was able to work through them, without the benefit of having Fetter in the org, which Jobe has.
