well, if we're to take Harris at his word around prioritizing players who have a good knowledge of the strike zone, I think that's what he will strive for.

I'm not the least bit upset losing any of the players we've moved on from. what's Einstein's definition of insanity? doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I wish we could have moved on from Schoop, as well.

are you really willing to fall on your sword for Candelario? You might want to go back and look at last year's offensive and defensive contributions and revisit your position. I appreciate that Harris is looking to improve there, even though it's a pretty low bar.

This is going to be a very long winter if we have to keep revisiting Miggy's presence on next year's roster. It's happening, no matter how much grousing takes place.

I think everyone, including Team Miggy, would be OK with an injury that cuts significantly into his playing time. I just want the Tigers to provide the guy with the opportunity to leave on his own terms.

Not at all—I think his milestone chase did positively impact attendance (I personally made it to his 3000th hit—one of only two games I went to). However, once that was over, his presence likely had very little impact on attendance. And I suspect he’ll have none in 2023, except for his retirement ceremony.

Without knowing how much he received, that looks like a good fit.

I guess I’m not arguing that some might have thought that early last season as milestones were being chased. I seriously doubt anyone now believes that—and if they do, their forum access should be immediately suspended, along with public shaming and a good flogging.

No one really believes that. There is zero reason to find anything positive in him being part of next year’s roster, except for his retirement celebration. It’s a sad end to a first ballot HOF career.

I think I am stupider reading the last 30-40 posts. And I don’t have any IQ points to spare. I know this is a forum to speculate, but I find it interesting that there is so much conviction and confidence while commenting on a situation that no one really knows anything about. We don’t even have an offseason to evaluate how the new front office is going to approach building a roster.
