  1. Probably organizational innings eater.
  2. His teammates aren’t stupid—if he does not have a legitimate reason to be away from the team, he will likely not get much sympathy or be held in very high regard, especially with all of the injuries to our starting pitching this season. Again, though, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt until we learn otherwise.
  3. Who’s sleeping 🤣 (he was called up a while ago). Has scuffled a bit in Erie since his recall. Was en fuego in WM, though.
  4. Somebody on the Tweeter proposed trading Skubal for a big haul, given the dearth of available good starting pitching. Would be an easier decision to make if you thought ERod was coming back. I’m OK with punting on this season. Call up Fister, Porcello and Milt Wilcox and see if anyone wants to pitch some innings. Or move Harold to the rotation and bring up Zach Short to pitch the garbage innings.
  5. I think he’s already previously said he would retire after this contract.
  6. I thought I read somewhere that Clemens doesn’t have the arm to play 3B. If he can, that would be ideal. Wish Kreidler didn’t have his setback—would be nice to get him some reps there.
  7. Personally, I’m not interested in W-L anymore this season. There’s no moral victory getting within 10 games of .500. Or achieving .500 record. I want to see if our hitters can get it together in the 2nd half. We will likely see regression from our young starting pitchers as well as stricter pitch/innings limits. We should also look to move a reliever or two if we can upgrade elsewhere. Dump Grossman and reduce playing time for Schoop and Candy. More AB’s for Clemens, Baddoo, Cameron, etc. Let them take their lumps. Hopefully there is a Turnbull and Jake Rogers sighting before the end of the season. Reset for 2023 and pray for an Avila dismissal.
  8. Would prefer to see Lange pitch the 9th tonight. Fulmer is my 2nd choice.
  9. In Chicago this weekend and watched the postgame show last night—they made it seem like it was impossible for the White Sox to lose that game. Really took it hard.
  10. We’re gonna learn he’s hurt.
  11. The All-Star write up in the Athletic today was brutal—Javy listed as the LeastVP in the AL, with damning evidence.
  12. I think our all-star obligated rep will be either Fulmer or Soto. Or, if the AL team gets lucky, Miggy will satisfy representation from the Tigers.
  13. I still don’t think they have. Offense still very inconsistent (and flawed). I also think the starting pitcher injuries will catch up to us.
  14. He moved to 2B next season when we sign Correa.
  15. Prefer Jung, but Neto looks solid, too,
  16. I prefer to think he was just practicing some Feng Shui in the clubhouse.
  17. I sort of agree with this. I’m not as high on Baddoo, but ready to move on from Grossman.
  18. We don’t know if Mayer wanted to play for the Tigers—it’s not unusual for a HS player to use the threat of college as leverage. I personally would have preferred Mayer, but it’s hardly a “debacle” that the Tigers took the best pitcher in the draft with their selection, after a few recent drafts where they focused on selecting position players. We saw with Manning that it can take longer for a high school pitcher to adjust to professional ball. The curve is probably greater for Jobe, who took up pitching later. I recall reading at the time of the draft that if a team had wanted to draft him as a SS, he would have likely gone in the third round, so he was fairly polished/accomplished there. I’m pulling for him—if he reaches his ceiling, he should exceed Mize or Skubal. We just have to be patient—I’m encouraged by what he’s doing getting his feet wet in A ball.
  19. It’s definitely delicate, without knowing the specifics. I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  20. I had looked up his stats a few weeks back and was surprised at how mediocre he looked (and that might be generous). I was on his bandwagon for awhile. Glad to be proven wrong.
  21. Too much corruption in the fan vote.
  22. 1. He personifies the worst era in Tigers baseball for me. 2. He famously was outspoken about our Moneyball trade with the A’s that sent Jeff Weaver packing. 3. His dad used to frequent the old Freep Tigers forum and stir up shit. 4. I’m pretty sure Bobby was using steroids and his steep decline occurred after he stopped. 5. He still remains one of my favorite baseball cards:
