  1. This only works effectively if everyone would stop quoting certain contrarian individuals.
  2. No real tradable assets, some bad contracts and injured pitchers. Reminds of when Dombrowski took over. It took him a while to erase the sins of his predecessors.
  3. Only reacting to what is being speculated. It’s the best we can do at this point until more moves take place. Harris is being forced to navigate this offseason with his hands tied behind his back, so we need to be realistic about our expectations.
  4. Lugo is a good reliever, though we’re apparently looking at him as a starter.
  5. If… guys hit like they have in the past (Meadows, Baez, Schoop) as well as up to their potential (Tork, Greene), things could get better much quicker.
  6. Kind of depressing if true. Sounds like we want to ride with the kids for next season. Seth Lugo and Adam Frazier feels like a Michael Pineda and Jordy Mercer redux.
  7. Alex Faedo’s is stellar
  8. Disappointed to see any responses in this thread. It’s a Desperate cry for attention, a la Rob Parker or Lynn Henning.
  9. I think what distinguishes him is his age, pitch recognition, quick ascent and strong performance in the AFL. The only thing he has in common with Demeritte is the team we acquired him from. Looking forward to see what he can do in a full season at AAA in Toledo.
  10. He’s a good guy to have in AAA. Decent insurance
  11. It’s also the reason to trade ERod while you can. He’ll only make $14M this season, which should make him very attractive in trade with any of the teams who lose out on Carlos Rodon.
  12. Baez has to return closer to his career averages if he hopes to get the stink of 2022 off him. This would be the best outcome for everyone, especially the Tigers. I’m not counting on it, though.
  13. Agree. The guy can be a douche, but no one deserves this treatment if innocent. Unfortunately, he’s not been given the benefit of the doubt, perhaps due to his brashness.
  14. Anyone concerned that Baker Mayfield could increase the chances of the Rams winning a few more games this season and messing up our chance of getting a top-5 pick? Asking for a friend.
  15. I was a very junior advertising grunt at one of the bigger ad agencies in Detroit. My client was a sponsor of the Tigers radio broadcast and I had Rick Rizzs call me asking if he could do commercial work, in exchange for a car. I was excited and starstruck until he basically started stalking me after that. Seemed like a nice dude, though, and he eventually respectfully honored the restraining order I filed against him.
  16. I heard the bigger issue was that he didn’t always wash his hands after using the restroom.
  17. I’m working on this.
  18. Who knew that SD would need to overpay by so much? Playoff team in one of the most beautiful cities in the US to live in.
  19. “The world needs relievers, too, Danny.”
  20. It would be exciting if they let The Hyphenate try and make the team out of Spring Training, though I suspect he’ll be Toledo-bound.
  21. Now I kind of miss all of the talk around cutting Candelario.
  22. My comment wasn’t meant as a commentary on his acquisition, but a desperate plea for a cheap laugh.
  23. Somebody has to replace Harold Castro’s innings next season.
  24. A bit of an overreaction, but, yes, this team will not get fixed this sole offseason. I’m not going to worry until we get to spring training and no other moves have been made. I doubt that happens. We’ll pick from the second tier of free agents and hopefully make a trade or two. Any improvement, though, will come mostly from our own player development. Fingers crossed.
  25. This is the first players market in a while—teams are spending recklessly. Less than ideal for the Tigers.
