  1. More (all autographed)
  2. If you can’t hit, coach
  3. New MILB coaching assignments: Tigers unveil a revamped player development staff for 2022 https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2022/01/06/tigers-unveil-revamped-player-development-staff-2022/9121533002/
  4. I collect autograph cards, much to my wife’s chagrin. Here are a few:
  5. Started this at the old place. Feel free to share your prized possessions or favorite cards.
  6. MLBTradeRumors is running a contest, asking visitors to pick the date this gets resolved. I selected March 14th.
  7. I just bought an autograph card of his on eBay. Is that the type of news you’re looking for?
  8. I think you’re being a bit dismissive of Schoop, Grossman and Candelario.
  9. Maybe he’s just lazy
  10. Baseball is in a precarious place—their fervent fan base are old guys. However, they could address that with the Tatis’, Vladdy Jr and Ohtani’s and dingers followed by bat flips to try and appeal to a younger audience. A work stoppage would be potentially damaging to growing (and maintaining) interest. We’ll see how how dumb both sides are.
  11. I think there is some revisionist thinking going on. No one can dispute that Correa is the more complete player than Baez. However, when you factor in Javy’s contract relative to what Correa is reporting to be seeking, they certainly look a bit more comparable from a value perspective, with Baez getting the edge. All things equals (which they aren’t) Correa >>> Baez
  12. I don’t see that contact materializing for Correa. Lindor had better timing and Steven Cohen. None of these free agents have that this offseason.
  13. Since everyone is posting pic’s of their Tigers-named pooches, meet Neifi Perez
  14. Until he got Munsoned
  15. I follow your logic regarding the question marks with the OF, but think we should avoid adding any others to the mix. I want Hill, Baddoo and Cameron to get AB’s (already assuming that Greene will be a starter). Would like to see what we have in these guys. Same goes with Paredes in the infield.
  16. Hill > Cameron > Reyes and Haase is our modern day Wockenfuss. Which means he’ll be dealt for the closer on our next WS champs.
  17. If Victor Reyes makes the team over Hill or Cameron, I’ll move to Canada.
  18. I'm not sure that Correa is conceivable anymore, but that fact that we have Schoop should not be a reason to avoid signing him, while moving Baez to 2B. With the crazy contracts being thrown around for middle infielders, Jonathan at $7.5M is a bargain for any team that misses out. And we don't have any 2B coming up, so it still is a position of need longer term.
  19. who knows if this is true, but nice to see that the Tigers made a concerted effort. If Correa expects to get paid comparably to Lindor, then it wasn't in the ballpark, but was probably a fair offer on it's own merit. Lindor benefitted from 1) crazy, rich owner and 2) got ahead of the free agency 5
  20. Yes, but where do you stand on Cavan Biggio or Keston Hiura?
  21. can't wait to hear Dan Dickerson say "Elvis has left the bullpen"
  22. Would they play some AAA games at the CoPa, or would that be some sort of violation?
  23. Kaat had a better career ERA, more wins and a higher WAR than Morris. Unless the argument is that Morris doesn’t belong, which I can get behind.
  24. I typically view Tanking as not trying to lose, but also not investing/committing to win.
  25. agree with your concerns, and think we should just pass on Rodon. Plus, he's likely going to the Dodgers or Yankees, or another team with no regard for the luxury tax, or any other similar implications that will be placed on teams coming out of this CBA. I'm good with another reclamation project to complete with Tyler Alexander and Joey Wentz. Or go and get Verlander if he truly didn't sign his contract.
