  1. He’s pitching like a guy who was drafted in the 28th round.
  2. Beau Brieske not fooling many. Hope the decision to play Willi in LF doesn’t backfire
  3. Where do you play Clemens? I don’t think he’s an upgrade to either Schoop and Candy, who have replicated their early season slump from last year. I do think they’ll start to hit soon. He might be an upgrade to Cabrera at DH, but that isn’t happening. At try this point, I think Clemens is an injury replacement at 2B or 3B, or trade bait.
  4. If Grossman goes on the DL, I’d prefer they promote Cameron and give him a bunch of AB’s. Time to step up.
  5. Have you considered a career with NASA?
  6. Are there any free agents remaining at a position of need, ie. Linebacker, and do we have any cap room to get one?
  7. Saw that, too. I was a bit nervous about him based on last year—concerned we had another Nick Quintana, but he looks much better so far. Colt Keith has looked good in West Michigan, too. Would be great if at least one of them pans out.
  8. Agree. He’s struggled a bit with the over his head pop-ups, but otherwise brings some athleticism to the position. Can’t dwell on an error or two. Too small of a sample size right now and he should only improve with more coaching and reps.
  9. Agree, but the Tigers seem to think he’s an option there. In reality, with a guy like Baez, perhaps it isn’t necessary cause he’s playing every day. If he has an injury, you can always dip into Toledo.
  10. Agree. I think it still happens when Reyes comes back.
  11. Remember in 1984 when they banned selling alcohol in the bleachers? (And even closed the bleachers for a period of time). When they reopened them, they only served L.A. (low alcohol) beer.
  12. I don’t see a fit for him. He doesn’t play SS, so he won’t replace Harold, who they seem to be OK plugging in there when necessary. Perhaps if Schoop were ever to go on the IL, but otherwise I don’t see the opportunity.
  13. Just got back from the game—I can’t wait until I’m able to tell my future grandchildren that I was there to see Angel DeJesus’ major league debut. Unforgettable!
  14. IMG_4177.MOV The view from RF
  15. Boone is in a hyper competitive division. The NY media and fans would have ate him alive if they perceived he wasn’t trying to win. Miggy will get his 3,000 hit—I don’t think it was bush.
  16. Would be nice to see our bat-first recent draftees (Bryant Packard & Daniel Cabrera), start to hit. Neither profiled to have big power, but they were supposed to hit for average. Obviously early this season, but they haven’t shown a lot prior to this year..
  17. Fortunately for Jack, the Veterans Committee didn’t share those high standards.
  18. I’d leave Kreidler where he is. I don’t think it makes sense to bring him up for a week. I’d have preferred Short for now, but Kreidler would be my 3rd option right now.
  19. Anyone surprised/disappointed that the Tigers called up Willi instead of Short to play SS? I would have preferred the better glove there, but he is a black hole offensively. Perhaps with the bats struggling, they put a greater emphasis on offense right now.
  20. We have two legit CF right now in Hill and Cameron, who have had limited exposure in the majors. I’d like to give them the shot first. Baddoo is playing out of position in CF.
  21. He’s our Derek Hill, except much better when healthy.
  22. He started that in the Cubs World Series win. They won in spite of him. He’s incredibly overrated as a manager, cause he wears Clark Kent specs and is “wacky”
  23. If Baddoo continues to struggle with both in the field and at the plate, will the Tigers be willing to send him down when Hill shows he is ready to play?
  24. How are we winning games with all of the injuries? Got a scheduling gift.
