perhaps, but I'd rather pool out tradable assets for the best position player we can get (that makes sense for our roster). if we're getting more pitching in return, I'd just assume hold on to Soto, who we control for a few more seasons.

really hope we focus on getting a bat in return, if we move any of our relievers.

I think we’re a bit limited in what we can do. The AS break has sometimes served as a line of demarcation, where players who had a bad first half, turn it on in the second (and vice versa). I think we’re better off giving Schoop, Grossman, Candy and Barnhart a month to see if the break helped them. By that time, Rogers might be ready to come back. Kreidler could be an option at 3B if he can get some reps in Toledo. Could also bring back Cameron or Hill, too.

maybe not considered late round, but both Brant Hurter (7th round) and RJ Petit (14th round) have both pitched very impressively at High A.

yep. but I think we'd agree that his performance is unusual for someone drafted in that round. plus, one of our resident prospect experts already said he's just an organizational guy.

would they do that with the high pick, college position players? I know they coddle the pitchers and high schoolers, but don't recall what happened last year.

They've already said that Jung will play 2B. Gold is possible. They might move Keith there, too, when he gets healthy. I suspect Jose King and Corey Joyce, both in WM, are probably leaving the organization soon. And Trei Cruz is probably on notice. They won't move the young guys in Lakeland up yet (I think), so Jung and Graham could start in WM.

Glad we're addressing our dearth of OF prospects in the org.
