My son and I have seen lots of Lions fans throughout downtown SF today. Will be interesting to see how many of us there are tomorrow at the game.

I coached travel for my youngest son (only one season—the parents were miserable to deal with). Many years of traveling/tournaments for my oldest—it is a summer-long commitment. The teams typically only carry 12 players, because the coaches don’t want to deal with parents complaining about playing time for their son when they shelled out $2000 to be on the team, plus travel expenses and time commitment. As such, the coaches expect everyone attend every game (they need the pitchers/innings), and be flexible if they choose to add additional last minute tournaments at their discretion.

This. Trying to find flaws in Ichiro’s HOF candidacy is nearly impossible. He was elite.

Did Hinch make another winter sojourn to spend time together? I’d rather have Ichiro or Rod Carew make that trip. I do wonder if they have tried to tell Javy that they don’t need him to hit 25 HRs. That he’d be more valuable if he made more consistent contact, at the expense of dingers. He’s strong enough that he would still get his fair share.

Yeah, for as much as we joke about him, I wouldn’t bet against him turning into a decent player. Of course, I wouldn’t bet on it, either.

With Nevin off the board, Matt Chapman could be a fallback for the teams that missed out.

Is that their way of saying not enough power to play in a corner? I don’t know what Bigbie will become, but feel pretty good if we have 31 prospects who are better.

I saw that his TE had words with Hurts on the sideline. Might have been related to this. Can’t see how the coach stays. A lot of competition for the more coveted coaches out there, but I would think Philly would be a desirable opportunity.

Have to admit I was concerned about a Swift revenge game if we played Philly. I guess could still happen in a SB matchup with KC, but that’s a very different threat—teenage girls and their soccer moms in matching concert tee’s.
