  1. I’ll go on record as saying I don’t want Chapman. He looks like he’s on the decline. Im good with Vierling until Jung is ready.
  2. The rumor always was that William Clay Ford was the “Fredo” of the family, and instead of shipping him to Vegas, they gave him the Lions to keep him away from the car company.
  3. Forgot his bum wing isn’t his throwing one.
  4. I worry about Parker’s readiness. Really don’t have a Plan B in CF (so far).
  5. Jung has a .375 OBP in the minors. He’ll be in Detroit at some point next summer, barring a collapse.
  6. I wondered about that—does he still have good connections, now that the Avila regime is gone? I can’t see Harris & Co engaging in a similar fashion.
  7. He’ll appreciate all of your help
  8. Lovefest. I felt the need to seek out a Keith Law pod to balance things out.
  9. Yeah, pass on Turner or another DH. I’m ready to see Malloy get those AB’s. Dude had over a .400 OBP and 20 HR’s in AAA. He can DH and play a ****ty 3B, instead.
  10. #freetaylorswift
  11. Agree, but Meadows can cover even more ground in CF, if Riley is in LF.
  12. Fired right before Christmas. Where’s the outrage with Scrooge Harris?
  13. I don’t worry too much about catcher—few teams get much offense there. I think Vierling will get first crack at 3B, barring another acquisition. He or Ibanez are keeping it warm until Jung gets proms at some point. My biggest lineup concern is CF. If Meadows struggles, we don’t have many other everyday options to play there—Baddoo or Vierling? I don’t want to see Riley there ever again—too many opportunities to lay out for a fly ball (and risk injury).
  14. Some reasons for optimism: -Greene, Tork and Carpenter stay healthy and build on the success they had last year. -Baez figures a way to climb out of last season’s black hole and hits .250 with 20 bombs. -Canha, hitting mostly leadoff, has a .350+ OBP -Keith and Malloy make the team and have respectable rookie seasons offensively. -We don’t have to rely on AB’s from Nevin, Schoop and Short, and much fewer from McKinstry.
  15. Didn’t help that each of our franchises decided on a rebuild at the same time.
  16. Could Mosley or Johnson have been able to defend Jefferson better? Getting a playmaker there has to be a priority in the offseason.
  17. Definitely agree with your second point. I doubt we’d do it, but I would put Olsen ahead of Manning. His performance last year warrants it.
  18. Why do we need to limit Manning’s innings? His injuries were foot-related. Take the training wheels off. In my mind, only Mize needs the special treatment.
  19. Is he getting traded? He was rushed to the majors in 2022 and hurt a good chunk of last season. I’ll take that bet.
  20. Combined with Madden, Flores and Hurter likely moving up. And Jobe at some point.
  21. He might as a short reliever. #failedstarter
