  1. That’s the kind of quality, investigative reporting that we’ve come to expect from you. Nice work.
  2. If they think Jung is likely be called up at some point, it would justify going with a Vierling/McKinstry platoon at 3B to start the season.
  3. Somebody’s a bit cranky tonight. What a douche
  4. Was Turnbull at $7-8M a bad option, compared to what Flaherty is getting? He must have really burned a bridge with Harris and Co.
  5. It might be true, but doubt McCosky knows anything of substance. If the Glasgow trade doesn’t go through, do the Dodgers come after Skubal?
  6. So, we’ve added Mark Canha Kenta Maeda Andrew Chafin Jack Flaherty It’s a legitimate offseason so far. I really don’t see much else happening, though would love to be pleasantly surprised.
  7. probably paying a slight premium to limit it to one year. very Lorenzen-like in the potential to get better than he has been lately. Good insurance. I'll allow it.
  8. Unless Ohtani flames out.
  9. Ohtani had contended all along that he wanted to play on a winner. With his deferral, they can now add the much needed pitching to round out that team.
  10. Kind of takes the sting out of striking out.
  11. What is also lost is that Chafin had opted out of our contract with him. We didn’t trade or release him.
  12. He’l have a long leash. His stuff is good when he can control it.
  13. I’m not prioritizing a closer. In the spirit of failed starters, I think we have plenty of candidates. Let’s get a starter and 3B stopgap
  14. He just wanted to get closer to home. Again.
  15. Dodgers need starters—they aren’t done yet. Yamamoto?
  16. I’m working on all 155 variations. Stay tuned…
  17. I guess it depends on the number of years, since he’s young. He could get 12+. I think his annual will be closer to $50M.
  18. Also, I don’t believe that Ohtani has a comp, so while the next big free agent might want a similar contract, they won’t be getting it. Soto is probably next, and likely ends up closer to $500M.
  19. Not gonna lie. My indoor pitching lessons start right after Christmas.
  20. The $700M was secondary. I believe he was heading to the Jays, but the Dodgers stepped in and made him a deal that no other team could/would top.
  21. I’ll bet Maeda K’s more hitters than Ohtani does next season.
  22. My buddy, who is a big Dodgers fan, just texted that he hopes that Ohtani doesn’t like rough sex. Hilarious.
  23. The lineup (so far): DH Canha 2B Keith LF Greene 1B Tork RF Carpenter 3B Vierling SS Baez C Rogers CF Meadows SP Skubal SP Maeda SP Manning SP Olsen SP Mize/Long
  24. How much would the Jays have to pay, considering the exchange rate?
