  1. Let’s go Seawolves! Give us something to care about in September.
  2. Think it’s his X handle
  3. Who do you guys have in Blow The Save?
  4. If they think Montgomery will be out beyond the GB game, I’d like to see get some RB depth. Gibbs probably can’t hold up getting 25 rushes a game and Craig Reynolds is not the answer.
  5. If you’re not watching today, I encourage each of you to tune in. C-Mo is drunk in the broadcast booth. At least, I hope he is.
  6. It’s not SOL, it’s just the number of injuries to key players that has me discouraged for today.
  7. They won’t want to move Kim—he’s on a reasonable deal. I suspect they will want to move at least one of Soto, Machado, Tatis or Bogarts. They have a ton of salary tied up in those 4.
  8. I think we had Leon Roberts and Danny Meyer coming, too. If Al Gore had been born 30 years earlier and had the internet ready by 1975, we probably would have been lamenting that Campbell should have been moving the old ‘68 guys, like Freehan, Stanley and Hiller for prospects.
  9. Do we go after our next Miggy in the offseason? Jobe, Keith and some spare parts for Juan Soto, assuming he’d agree to a contract extension? SD has to move some salary. A presence like Soto in the lineup would make Greene, Tork, Carpenter and Baez better.
  10. Regardless of the circumstances, he needs the innings. Glad he’ll get the opportunity for more in the AFL.
  11. Yep. But maybe we don’t have to make a lot of moves. Upgrading at C would be nice. SS, too. I wonder if Skubal will be in play with the Dodgers, who would jump at a controllable elite pitcher. They clearly have the prospect capital to make a deal. Whether ERod stays or goes will factor significantly with any potential moves involving our rotation.
  12. Our dilemma will be the willingness to outbid other teams for free agents, in both $ and years. Many contracts given out the past two offseasons will be regrettable for the teams who made those choices. We obviously have one in Baez. I think we plug holes and plan to give the AB’s to Malloy, Keith, Jung and Meadows.
  13. Without looking, did we get Steve Foulcault for Horton? Our return for Lolich was stronger—Rusty Staub had some very productive seasons as a Tiger.
  14. Wonder is that is also driving the decision to have Jung play 3B in the AFL?
  15. It’s his non-throwing arm. How do you even rehab it? Just rub some dirt on it and get back on the field.
  16. “Pitch count? Innings limits? What in the GD hell are you talking about?!?!” -Ralph Houk
  17. I like that list. Jung belongs—good for him to see some more advanced pitchers. I think he’s in the bigs at some point next season.
  18. Did the A’s really gift Miggy, a recovering alcoholic, a bottle of wine from Napa?
  19. I read that he distinguished himself during the interview process by saying he wanted to toughen up the Tigers. No one else thought to bring that up.
  20. I know they took 2 of 3 from us, but I’m not very optimistic about the Dodgers chances in the postseason. Wasn’t super impressed watching them, besides Betts and Freeman.
  21. I hope guessing his diagnosis will be part of the next game’s parlay.
  22. Harper came back early as a DH. I could see Greene doing that, too.
  23. yes--we should not look at next season as part of a rebuild. Interestingly, with improvements this season, and returns from injury, we should have a very good core for next season to build around (Greene, Tork, Carpenter, Rogers, Skubal, Mize, Manning, Foley, Lange). Optimism for continued development from guys like Brieske, Gipson-Long, Faedo, Holton, Wentz and Meadows. Promotions for Keith and Malloy, with the possibility that we could see at some point players from this group: Madden, Flores, Hurter, Kreidler, Dingler, Jung, Jobe and Mattison. Make an addition or two via free agency. A 86-88 win season is within reach. Given the state of the AL Central, we should capitalize on the current talent vacuum in the division and set our sights on a postseason berth.
  24. I wonder if the Tigers will talk to Baez about his role on the team beyond this season? If playing time is not guaranteed and they view him more as a UT player, conveying that to him as he is pondering his opt-out would be in both sides best interests. If Javy elects to stay, he would be doing that with “eyes wide open.”
