  1. I think drafting Clark over Langford demonstrated risk-taking as Wyatt was the more proven, closer to MLB prospect of the two. However, I do think he bungled the ERod trade situation, unless there was absolutely no other team remotely interested in acquiring him. Also, I’d like to see a bit more DD in him and move some prospects for established players. He did that successfully in getting Canha, and didn’t have to yield a top-25 prospect in return.
  2. The concern with Harris is lack of track record. He wasn’t the guy in Chicago or SF. He had good mentors and is learning on the job, but let’s be realistic and that he could very well be our version of Bob Quinn, who arrived with similar enthusiasm and accolades. Tigers Twitter has a severe groupthink mentality when it comes to him—almost sycophantic. Some of that permeates here, too. Just because Harris isn’t Avila doesn’t make him any better or portend future success.
  3. Hinch isn’t the reason this team can’t hit. I doubt it’s a hitting coach, either. And it can’t be the ballpark, unless the ground has settled since the teams with Miggy, V-Mart, Kinsler, JD, etc. flourished. Something else is amiss.
  4. Actually, you can wait. This is another lost season and he isn’t blocking anyone. We are completely devoid of 1B prospects, unless Gold or Briceno end up there, and they are both a few seasons away.
  5. I seriously doubt that Ilitch is being stingy. It was not a great free agency class this past offseason. We have done a good job assembling a pitching staff—still think Maeda will contribute this season. I would like to see Harris make some trades, leveraging our well regarded farm system for more established players to accelerate our path to relevance.
  6. I largely agree with this, but the Tigers (Mike, Chris and Al) made the flawed decision to blow up the team and tank for several years. That didn’t have to happen—we still could have built a competitive team around Verlander, J.D. and some others.
  7. This is so embarrassing and demoralizing. Tigers are making it extremely difficult to be a fan of this current roster. I’m the closest I’ve been since 2003 to giving up on a season. Thanks Al and Scott!
  8. I think Avila’s drafts were pretty good. Mize and Tork were obvious, consensus #1 overall picks. And both have seen success at the major league level. If there has been a weakness, it’s likely in player development once we source these individuals. Harris made this one of his key tenets—he now has talented players throughout the system. He’ll be judged, at least by me, on how that talent is optimized. This includes Tork—his failure will be on Harris.
  9. I don’t think Harris gets a mulligan here. The Royals were well behind us in rebuilding, yet have blown past us in very short order. That’s on Scott.
  10. The only pissed off Tiger right now is Reese Olson
  11. Probably explains his recent performance at Toledo. Hope it’s not serious. Welcome back—I hope this is the last of your work-related distractions so you can prioritize the minor league updates this summer.
  12. Criminal seeing Tram in another team’s uniform.
  13. I don’t think you can cut bait with Javy, unless you’re OK with Navigato coming up to play SS every day. He’s not blocking anyone healthy at this point. If you can just ignore how much he’s making, he provides good D. A completely overpriced Mario Mendoza. His contract is a sunk cost, so we just have to accept that until we find a suitable replacement. Hoping Harris will be active at the deadline and move a starting pitcher for a legit AAA shortstop who is major league ready.
  14. Another 5-0 night for the org
  15. Which requires the least amount of effort?
  16. Hats need a logo or an icon. Just having a word on it looks like something unlicensed that you’d pick up at a gas station.
  17. Questioning your priorities.
  18. This is the first draft in at least a dozen years that I’m unengaged. I really have no idea who any of these draftees are.
  19. We’re at a best a .500 team, so not surprised to see water seeking it’s own level with us. Poor Reese. Might win an ERA title without getting a W.
  20. The Org went 5-0 tonight.
  21. Would have preferred to see Vest pitching with a 4-run lead.
  22. MLB average is .239, so we’re not the only team with lousy hitters. However, it will be tough to upgrade multiple positions soon. Greene is pretty good, Carpenter and Vierling are OK. Canha is 35 and will be a free agent. Have to hope that Keith’s struggles are rookie-related, but his contract will give him a long leash. Maybe Malloy and Jung can contribute this year or next. Not sure how we’re going to fix all of our problems any time soon.
  23. Greedy much? At least we have two
  24. Skubal not really fooling anyone today.
