The ski mask thing didn’t age well.

Two dingers for Jake Rogers today. 19 on the season. It took a few seasons longer than we all hoped for, but we can finally declare that we won the Verlander trade.

No pressure yet on Geno—thought they had two OL starters out?

Have to feel some optimism about how the minors are ending. Malloy, Keith and Jung are knocking on the door after exceptional seasons. Bigbie, maybe too, but doesn’t have the same pedigree as the others, so will be interesting to see him next season at Toledo. Even Flores, Madden and Hurter have ended the season on a high note, along with Jobe. Encouraging way to enter the offseason.

Can they make the playoffs?

Probably why I brought it up.

MLB.com shows Diaz as today’s starter. Is it a bullpen day? I’m looking forward to seeing ERod pitch against the Dodgers. They might have a chip on their shoulder over the rejection, but they also just clinched and might not really care about that.

They said on yesterdays broadcast that players of Puerto Rico descent or past winners or current nominees for the Roberto Clemente award were eligible to wear #21.

The Motor City Kitties will finish this season 9-7. 76-86 on the year. Fix the lineup and we’ll see that record inverted next year.

Wait until he finds out that Lorenzen has imploded, post no-no, and is probably heading to the Phillies pen.

This is an unexpected honor

I really don’t see us trading for/signing a position player, unless they can upgrade at catcher. Tork, Javy, Greene, Carpenter are locks as starters. I think Malloy and Keith will be on the Opening Day roster. Jung has a very good chance of getting promoted at some point next season. I think it will come down to how much confidence they have in Meadows. Of course, Harris could package some prospects for an Arenado or other veteran.

I'm not sure that SS is completely locked down next season. I don't see the Tigers giving Baez 150 games if he performs like this again. Maybe not cut, but he could become a super utility guy. Let's hope it doesn't come to this.

I don’t recall any outrage. Fulmer was middling at best.

Fun to watch. Gets the ball and throws. A lot of low strikes and some deception.

McKinstry, Shirt and Baddoo are all useful bench pieces. I’d be fine with all coming back. Just don’t want them getting a lot AB’s

Keith will be in the starting lineup in April, barring some bizarre collapse or injury in Spring Training. Not sure if he’s the 2B or 3B, but he’ll be in the lineup. Malloy, too. We might not see any significant position player additions this offseason. And maybe just one starting pitcher acquisition, if ERod stays. I also think there are plenty of bullpen candidates, among the failed starter group. This could be a very quiet offseason.

Is his improvement due in part to facing AAA pitching, which hasn’t been very good this season?

No idea what his defense looks like, but all he’s done is hit since becoming a Hen. And pretty young for AAA.
