    Can only call up 2, right? Surprised it’s not a P and C. Nice to see Lipcius get called up. And I predict a smoking 10 games or more for him. Maton has raked since going down—has to be bummed he’s potentially getting passed over.

    Yeah, he’s a sunk contract, but I’d bring him back for another season to see if he can turn it around. At worst, he’s a very expensive defender at SS. Not sure Kreidler is any better, and no other SS in the org is close. Let’s hope we have a decision to make when McGonigle is ready (and can stay at SS).

    Not true. Either Short of Kreidler can fill in for a season, not to mention that they could try and acquire a replacement.

    The beer was cold. And seeing what could be Miggy’s final HR (I hope not) made it more tolerable. We couldn’t figure out why Hinch left Holton in so long during his 2nd inning, when he clearly wasn’t fooling anyone. I guess there really are few options in the pen these days, it felt like Hinch was ready to surrender when they were only down 5 runs.

    “We need the innings!” I suspect he doesn’t make it to the end of the season. It’s pretty clear there was zero market for his and Shreve’s services at the deadline.

    This is a bummer. I think a lot of us fell in that trap. Oh well, at least we have Keith that we can get excited about. Unless we’ve also been deluded into thinking he’ll be any good, too?

    He’s not done—he’ll get a few more opportunities. I think his post-playing career will be in coaching. Probably back in the Tigers org.

    Couldn’t you just cut Ibanez or demote Maton? Neither would be missed. I do think the OF will be Greene, Meadows and Carpenter most of the time. Baddoo will likely see his playing time decline in the process. You don’t call up Parker to sit. So, does Greene move to LF? The right move, but he might not be a fan. Should keep him healthier, though.

    I haven’t noticed his issues with the wall, but believe you guys. I just know that Cleveland had also struggled with the sun in right field in an earlier game in this series. Kind of like Tork trying to catch foul ball outs over his head—can’t seem to locate them.

    Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber (ironic that both are teammates, procured by DD), have been able to make a living as bat-first guys. Maybe bat-only is more apt.
