  1. If we’re being fair, the Tweet never commented on the quality of the throw, only that he made a terrific barehanded play. That part is true—if he doesn’t field it cleanly, and barehanded, he doesn’t have a shot at getting him out.
  2. It’s a great question. Is he more Brennan Boesch or JD Martinez?
  3. Don’t even bring up that assclown, Gore. What a poseur.
  4. Always admired guys like you. I was too busy sitting at home conceiving what would eventually be the internet. You’re all welcome.
  5. Well, that’s more like it.
  6. Look around—other can’t-miss guys have struggled, too. Joey Bart, CJ Abrams, Jerred Kellenic, Alex Kirilloff, JJ Bleday, Nick Madrigal—none has lived up to their hype (yet). Heck, Austin Martin, who was heavily debated as a potential alternative to drafting Tork, has yet to make the majors.
  7. Johnny knocked Dave Valle on his ass, back in the day when that was allowed.
  8. Didn’t Enos Cabell have the game winning hit?
  9. That’s not the intent of the City Connect. It’s to leverage an aspect of the community that the team plays in. I’m OK with them embracing this, but agree that I hope it’s tasteful and well executed. Of course, that’s subjective. Appealing to a younger audience probably makes sense. Pistons did a nice job with this.
  10. I’m good with Maton getting a chance to redeem his first half.
  11. They’ll do something with either Motor City or Motown.
  12. My son and I were just saying the same thing.
  13. Just trying to show they belong.
  14. I like the Mariner’s jersey and cap. Pants are pretty bad, though.
  15. Vierling! Let’s get some ground balls, ERod.
  16. They basically offered him a game-used Alfredo Simon jersey and beer koozee to sign.
  17. Hope they are throwing him a steady diet of breaking balls, cause that’s all he’s gonna see.
  18. Crazy part is that it was about cat grooming.
  19. I feel bad for her recent health challenges, but I really wish we had a different BA correspondent.
  20. Sorry, but that’s a bunch of BS. Baez is a veteran with a 1.5 year track record with us. His defense is good enough to stay at SS, but his bat is a black hole. He’s good because he stays healthy? And his salary might not hurt us next season, but soon we may want to start investing in signing core players long term, when what we’re paying him will matter. As well as payroll considerations for future free agents. And why bring ERod into this? That was/is a good signing. He’ll likely be dealt, but not to save payroll. Even if you were excited about the Baez signing at the time, it’s OK to be wrong based on his actual performance. I have been many times (i. e., Austin Meadows), but it’s OK to cut bait when it doesn’t work out.
  21. I’m sure it’s directly tied to the infusion of players acquired via the draft.
