Pre-injury(s), Miggy was on pace to be top 10 in many offensive categories. He was a shell of himself at the end of his career, and unfortunately, many will remember him that way. During his peak years in Detroit, he was probably the 2nd greatest player in Tiger history, after Cobb.

Isn’t it ironic that after many seasons of tanking and accumulating numerous high 1st round picks, our best pitcher and hitter (so far) is Skubal (round 9) and Carpenter (19th round). Don’t Cha think?

Agree that Pujols was better (are we really arguing this?), but it’s also like comparing Rachel Welch to Ann Margaret. And Miggy’s decline was mostly due to injuries and less about his conditioning, though they might be related.

Skubal needs to quit showing off. We’re not used to having a Tiger All-Star representative that actually earned his way on the roster.
