  1. I’m sure it’s directly tied to the infusion of players acquired via the draft.
  2. Yawn. Could he throw them all at the same time for strikes?
  3. Not proposing it as just payroll savings. It’s to get rid of a guy whose offense is in serious decline. Short would be a band-aid to get you through this already lost season.
  4. What is that? Is he in “time-out”?
  5. Baez is interesting. Zero value as is, but would you be in favor of the Tigers attaching a prospect (i.e., anyone not named Colt Keith or Max Clark) in order to entice a team to pick up the balance of his contract? I would. I could live with Zach Short for the balance of the season, and let Harris and team identify a mid-long term solution during the offseason.
  6. not sure I understand this--if Harris was high on Meadows, wouldn't he be more comfortable taking a HS who might take longer to develop? Probably doesn't matter, because I doubt Harris' opinion of anyone he inherited would have factored in, especially if he was drafting for BPA.
  7. very, very small sample against lower competition, but Jobe appears to be rebounding well from his back injury, though is small doses.
  8. With Meadows, I’m concerned about how his swing and miss will be exploited in the majors. Seems like all of the other tools are there—power, speed and defense. Jung seems like he’ll hit and have some power, with speed and defense lacking. Great opportunities for the new player development team.
  9. 1. Clark 2. Keith 3. Jobe 4. JHM 5. McGonigle 6. Jung 7. Flores 8. Meadows 9. Madden 10. Dingler Based mostly on the likelihood to get to the majors and have some sort of impact. Really wanted to include Graham and/or Santana, but they have been pretty inconsistent at low A.
  10. I’d like to see Lorenzen back. And a healthy Turnbull.
  11. There is something to this. Huge social media following and active on TikTok. We may scoff, but he’s a hit with the kids. Both the Tigers and MLB need more marketable players. It’s not the reason to draft him, but more of a potential bonus.
  12. You should see his mom
  13. If only Miggy’s legs hadn’t given out, what could have been.
  14. If we’re looking at this objectively, Clark looks like the better player. I think some, and I’m guilty, viewed Langford as an opportunity to accelerate our turnaround. Given where we’ve been the last 8 years, it’s understandable. However, as others have pointed out, Clark could end up on a similar timeline to an any college draftee and be the more complete player.
  15. The more you think about it, they probably worked out some savings with him to help pay McDonigle, who they must really like.
  16. we might need it to sign McConigle from his Auburn commit.
  17. Anderson's video suggests he's a bit stocky (and apparently picked up some HR power towards the end of the season). No idea where he plays--the MLB guys suggested he probably wouldn't stay in the middle infield. Maybe 1B? As a reminder, these are now Harris' guys. Meadows, Jung, etc.. were inherited. I would not be surprised, and actually pleased, if we moved some of our prospects that might hold appeal to other teams for controllable major leaguers, especially teams who are looking to reduce payroll. Not to go for it this season, but to accelerate our turnaround. While the Paredes for Meadows trade didn't work out, I think those are the types we should pursue.
  18. Sounds like he’ll move to 2B and hopefully push Jung soon.
  19. MLB guys are gushing about our pick and draft so far.
  20. You just want funny names now. That doesn’t start until the 15th round.
  21. There was a LH pitcher that was mocked to us. Whitman?
  22. If he can be a legitimate lead off guy, someone we have lacked, I’m on board.
